What Game Did You Play Today?

Bought System Shock 2 on Steam Sale and modded it already the fuck up…
FINALLY able to play this classic, wanted to do that for years!

But today I forgot to save and died after 2 hrs of playing… GNHAHAHAHAHA

^ See that’s where my habit of impulsively quicksaving every few seconds comes from.

That bitch Michelle. I was planning on taking her to the strip club soon, but now? Fuck that bitch int he ass. That fucking cunt mother fucking bitch fucking fuck fucker bitch fucking motherfucker bitch cunt bitch!

So how long until the forums are consolidated into a single thread to do away with all the off-topic?

How about “Unofficial official what rage you lose are you playing today?”

My rant was from playing GTA: IV. What does this have to do with gaming?

Oh right. I skimmed your post, missed the mention of strip club, and assumed you were raging about your love life again and meant to post in the rage topic.

After playing much of skyrim with the really out of place Skyrim Monster Mod which consists mostly of rips from other games, I’ve decided to get this mod instead to replace it

The custom monsters in this fit way better #1, and don’t look like they were spliced together with several others, and also it has a Grahl from Morrowind which is too cool not to have.

It’s kind of disappointing going back to Skyrim and realizing how small the bestiary actually is compared to the other games. Stock Oblivion alone had almost 100 creatures out of the gate, and a pretty small amount of them were animals, and then tons of cool TES creatures of Beth’s own creation from earlier games - and the biggest fraction of Skyrim’s bestiary is not only animals, but half the ones listed are docile ones that you don’t even fight, and most of the cool higher level stuff from prior games are gone :frowning:

I tried to continue playing G-String but I got to a point in the game where I keep getting an “ED_Alloc: no free edicts” error. Apparently, this is something that I cannot fix. Blah.

Finished LA Noire. Somewhat underwhelming ending, but a solid game nevertheless. I do wish there had been more chances to use guns, because gunplay in general was great but underutilized.

Just got a new LCD screen today. 23.5" for under $200, with great colors and fast response time to keep my gaming good. Hooked my PS3 to it and some loaner Bose speakers.

Crysis 1 sniper rifle + Bose speakers = EARGASM.

Played F.E.A.R. for the first time today. I made it to the Escalation chapter, the “Heavy Resistance” area. First thoughts: I wish there were more scares and less mowing through non-descript military baddies. But I did take this screenshot. I thought it was funny.

I did like the fact that you can see your body (shadows, reflections…feet) and the scares are relatively decent. I will withhold judgment on the entire game, however, until I complete it.

My biggest draw to that game is its LACK of gun play. Haven’t bought it yet though. Don’t know if I will.

ive been playing euro truck simulator 2, a game for weird old insane people, for like hours. its rad

Actually, that’s one of the reasons I like it quite a bit. The spacing of the horror parts really helps prevent them from getting too repetitive like some other games suffer from.

That, and the gunplay is quite satisfying.

Don’t get me wrong, I like mowing through enemies in that fashion. I just wish that there was less of that and more scare events. At times, I just feel like it’s a standard shooter. It feels like it’s 10% scares, 90% gunplay. I wish it was more like 40% scares, 60% gunplay. Or even 50/50. But, that’s just me, I guess.

I want a nazi shooter that looks like a modern shooter, but plays like Serious Sam: The First Encounter, where you mow down wave after wave of nazis, tanks, airplanes, and mecha-hitler. But no, the Wolfenstein games went… I don’t know where they went but I didn’t enjoy it after they went full 3d.

Back to GTA: IV…

Been playing Deus Ex, and I have yet to beat the first level. WHY IS STEALTH SO FRACKING HARD!?!?

Well the new wolf won’t be quite like that, but it will be a more fast-paced, twitch-style game instead of a realistic shooter.

Don’t get me wrong, the general gameplay is good, even great, though a bit repetitive at times. But shooting in this game feels so good, the fact that you don’t get many chances to actually use a gun feels like a wasted opportunity.
