Operation Black Mesa hits Greenlight!

Not at all.

Is deathmatch really going to come out for this next month?

I’m not expecting it to but I hope it does…

Thanks Uphys for the update!
I expected something like this, and it doesn’t surprise nor disappoint me. There has been a long silence before this and it already felt like it’s not gonna be what was announced a couple of month earlier. I can understand people who are disappointed though, for there WAS a promise and it has not been met, and everybody has very much the right to be upset about a broken promise (and should be). But I guess this is not gonna happen again in that matter, so that’s fine by me. I’d rather wait for a really neat looking and feeling game.

I think you should very much consider going a little bit commercial with this. This is a lot of work you are putting into it, and as far as I can see it is really paying of so far. the game - especially the new screens - look fantastic. And it’s not like people are not asking for this game to be able to be played the sh*t out of it  So, go ahead, do your thing, it’s gonna be great!

Dem graphics 0_0 those must be renders

I don’t need it.

I NEED IT!

I wonder if these folks will get their xen level done before the bms team does?

Pretty sure both Black Mesa and Operation Black Mesa have more than a single Xen level.

Nope, Carlos told me personally, XEN will be one giant level. They are modifying the sauce engine to handle the extreme map size that they have. Gordan will be able to move all through Xen with no loading

what if xen was actually finished we just never left the game running long enough to load the giant xen level

yeah, they just decided to put the credits before xen to make the load time a little more bearable

No

Since Xen has been slammed right into the middle of our storyline, we don’t really have the luxury of being able to develop / release that stuff sequentially…

On top of that, I’m pretty sure most (if not all) of the chapters/maps after the displacer have some Xen section. I can’t really think of a reason we’d exclude those from a release, or why anyone would reasonably think we would.

Sauce? Because that sounds too good to be true, not to say I don’t really really hope it’s true.

:hmph:

That was a joke (a bad one).

“sauce engine” and “Gordan” should have been your second and third clues, respectively.

They do, although IIRC some of them were reused once or twice.

I wonder if they’ll make new assets for that dead Gina Cross easter egg? It’s possible, since you also get to revisit the hazard course in OP4.

No, it’s true. Gordan Freman himself told me. And I’m a moderator. We never lie.
