Operation Black Mesa hits Greenlight!

I’m sorry, but he trolled you man.

There is no Freman, just Frohman.

guys, guys, morgon freomen assured me personally on skype that Xen will be a separate game sold at 75$ (and a DLC at 25$ a week later) and that the nihilanth will be replaced by mister bean

Shit, must buy.
I keep throwing dem moneyz at mah screen, but nothing be happening! WUT IS DIS SHIT?

                              /\this/\

I can always count on the old timers for a little humor

So, realistically:

What percentage is done? 15%? 20%?

After how long spent in development? 3 years? 4 years?

IF they would focus on it fulltime, they MIGHT finish in 2017.

It’s now 20 months since the release of Black Mesa part 1, and part 2, which was supposed to come “soon”, is nowhere to be seen :frowning:

If we could focus on it full time, we’d finish it already.

I fail to see the connection to OBM’s development cycle.

Obviously every Half-Life 1 Era remake mod is by the Black Mesa guys, they’re the official modders.

They sorta are the closest thing anyone has become to being “the official modders” for anything

Going by what we know at the moment, they’re no more official than, say, the Wilson Chronicles guys.

My point is that there could be a few moments of forethought before assuming all HL remakes are by the BM guys. I know they’re by far the most well known, but assumptions like that are still kind of silly. OBM stylistically looks quite different, so it shouldn’t be hard to tell.

Admittedly I am absolutely in love with the Wilson Chronicles Xenian redesigns.

Only thing wrong with em is that afaik their houndeye can’t blink because it’s not made to.

Price of Visine eye drops stock will surely go up.

Just want to bump this thread because I was randomly browsing around on Moddb and just came across this new ingame screenshot of OBM. So yeah, enjoy.

That Hivehand is beautiful what engine is this on? Source 2007 or a newer version? I haven’t searched for this mod in a year.

It’s on the newer version Source 2013.

Which is graphically identical to 2007.

But it won’t lag like hell compared to the source 2007 engine which was proably pushed to the limit like the first release of Black Mesa.

It will, the difference between 2013 and 2007 isn’t huge. You’re thinking of the commercial Source version which leaves more options for developers to optimize.

I like this hivehand more than BM one, which is a bit too colorful.

I like it because it looks more like the original Hivehand in hl1 although I love the Black version too just not as much.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
