We’ve found it. That’s how. Thread closed.
i know this doesent have to do with anything but, did gman age from hl1 to hl2?
if he has, should the model be younger?. he immortal or woot?
Answer to all the questions about what happened between HL1 and HL2:
The combine invaded earth 1 hour, 36 minutes and 54 seconds after Black Mesa blew up! About 46 minutes before that, Eli lost his leg.
2 + 4 = 12
I’m afraid Half-Life 2 has to be set a decade or two after the original, since the Combine has completely re-shaped the oceans, built their own structures across the planet, and turned half the population into soldiers. I find it hard to believe that thousands and thousands of people could be turned into Combine in a matter of hours, especially since it’s a fairly long process, as we can tell by looking at the Citadel/Nova Prospekt.
Oh, and I couldn’t really see Chell having a major role in Half-Life 3 or Episode Three.
There’s this thing that’s endemic to this forum and it’s called sarcasm. It’s everywhere you did and did not expect it. His statement, however, was easier to see than most, as he included an incorrect arithmetical equation. 2 + 4 actually equals 6, not 12, so either he’s a bumbling dumbass or just a sarcastic ass. Either way, there’s little point in replying to it.
Welcome to the forum.
Gordon will end up having inter-portal-course (utilzing portal physics for more efficient sex positions) with Chell.
Then Alyx will get jelly and team up with the G-man, becoming G-man’s evil girlfriend against Gordon.
Valve does twists. Like how Glados (main enemy in Portal) eventually becomes your greatest ally… WELL, in this case, your ally, ALYX, Becomes a BITCH. and tries to kill you in support of the G-man.
Seriously though, Valve is beginning to go for big twists and events in their series’. No one knows what shananigans Valve will come up with. For instance: That badass “Lunacy” turn of events in Portal 2. TWISTS. It’s why we love them.
I don’t know how many of you already know this, but I found it very interesting. The original meaning of Caroline (you know, Cave’s “fiercely loyal assistant”) is “free man”. Can’t help but believe that was a deliberate choice by Valve, but for what purpose…?
i still believe and maybe its a far fetch but since cell has a bit of an asian look … that she is the daughter of gordon and alyx.
That is a far stretch for more reasons than that, pendulum. Alyx was a child during the Black Mesa incident and Chell was probably a young-adult or a 20-something year old. Gordon would therefore be a dirty, dirty man that can defy biology. Then again, he’s a physicist after all.
Clearly Caroline is the mother of Gordon. Her name is Caroline Freeman or, as you’ve discovered, Free-man Freeman, despite being a girl. How’s that for a twist! Also, Chell is therefore Gordon’s sister. Get your incestual fantasies out of here, Ryan.
think about it … there is a timespan of 20 years between hl1 and 2 where gordon is put into a slow-time-warp. so technically it is possible. no one knows in what year the game portal takes place… it just can be the year 2040 2050 for all i know.
First of all, valve recently said that Portal 2 would be their last isolated single player experience. Make of that what you will, but i wish it to mean a co-op mode in EP3. With one person as gordon freeman, one person as chell. Exploring the Borealis, solving puzzles and kicking ass with the Zero-point energy manipulator and the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. Also, as to the question of how this is possible, the G-Man did it.
I don’t think that the Gordon story will become necessarily multiplayer but it could mean that Gordon ‘meets’ a group of characters that represent the multiplayer element, as Chell ‘meets’ Atlas and P-Body in Portal 2.
Oh, right. I only skim-read it, so didn’t notice any of that. Thanks for clearing that up!
How you know Portal 2 is hundreds years later? Maybe it was some years or some months and something happen. It is logic the system says “Nine, nine…” if all was destroyed, or you mean Chell was sleeping for millions of year? You really think so?
You guys have it all wrong its not Sheppard or Alyx that meet up with Chell or one of the bots, It’s the companion cube… remember its a sentient being… Imagine what happens when companion cubes get angry!!!
New theory: Mossman is Caroline!
wheatley has rampant techno sex with that satellite you sent up in hl1
This is the most likely explanation. (And I hope EP3 won’t have any multiplayer at all )
The two rebels in the antlion caves maybe?
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern? Or, at least, that’s what I called them.
