How can Chell play a part in half life's story?

Did valve say Chell would play a part in the story of half life, but how can she do that if she is hundreds of years in the future?

Do you mean Portal or Portal 2?

Portal 2.

If you’ve ever made it to chapter one in half life 2, I think the answer to your time question is a little obvious.

  1. They play in the same universe, BUT Valve won’t cross the storys between Portal and Half Life.

  2. Cryochambers.

Uhm, half life 2 is about 20 years in the future isn’t it, and portal 2 is hundreds of years, as demonstrated by all the damage to aperture laboratories and such, and the computer at the start saying “You have been in stasis for Nine Nine Nine Nine Ni”

you just answered your own question… she can’t. At all :hmph:

Oh, I thought I remember valve saying that Chell would be in half-life. I could be wrong though, I have a bad memory.

It didn’t give a unit. For all you know that could have been minutes and there was an earthquake.

…that made plants suddenly grow out

haha

The first time announcement was in months so that’s either in months or years.

Yes POrtal 2 is hundreds of years in the future. No Chell will not in any way be a part of the HL2 storyline.

How about we wait until the Half Life story plays out and then we can see if Chell features in it?

No, that wouldn’t work, would it? Better baselessly speculate.

She won’t though.

She can’t.Chell story in portal 2 take place hundreds of years after Gordon story in Half-life.

Without giving the plot of Portal 2 away, it’s possible that Gordon could come across Chell sometime in Episode 3.

I dont think there is enough gameplay time left in Half-Life 2 Episode 3 for Gordon to meet Chell. The G-man wont freeze Gordon again… I hope.

I don’t believe that Gordon will actually meet Chell; but I do believe that he might see her perhaps on a monitor or something…or maybe in stasis…or perhaps references to her. It’s all baseless speculation at this point.

Wheatley falls on Gordon’s great great great great great grandsons head… end of story.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
