How can Chell play a part in half life's story?

Am I the only one who really really doesn’t even want to see Chell in Portal 2? Anyway I hope valve is smart enough not to do it. My guess is that that Gabe comment has been redacted. Valve has really emphasized that though they take place in the same universe and slightly overlap, Portal and Half-Life are completely separate games and will most likely remain that way. Next, Chell is one of Half-Life’s classic mute characters. If we’re going to see her in Ep3, she would have to talk which would be weird after all her mute adventures. Or she could be a playable character in which case the next problem applies more. Then, it’d be weird for her to use anything other than a Portal gun if she were to take part in action. She lost the portal gun so she can’t use it and it’s not very practical in the outside world. And her with an smg just doesn’t fit. Next, it’s hard to think of a plausible way for them to meet.

TL;DR it’s not gonna happen and it’s not a good idea.

Yeah I agree. As cool as it would be if they could somehow plausibly bring Chell into the HL2 storyline, I see no way they could do it without it seeming very forced and coming off badly.

Beyond the obvious instance of the Borealis in Ep2 making the connection between half-life and portal, there is still the gman. An interdimensional being that can travel wherever, and possibly whenever he wants (to some extent). It might be farfetched, but it is possible. And if Valve really wanted to have Gordon and Chell meet, they will find a way.

Chell can’t talk because she has a minor serious brain damage which may disable her ability to speak.

Gabe said it. You deal with it.

NOW DIE!!!

At least she is a good jumper.

Timetravel. If the Borealis traveled forward in time, so can she.

I see you are new here, so let me give you the short and direct version:
Valve would NEVER make time travel a part of their storyline!
Except for the slow teleport from nova prospekt

Cave was mad! He compared robots to lemons, but you can conduct electricity with a potato, not a lemon. Even a little girl know that! :retard:

“You’re mad!”
“Thank goodness for that, 'cause if I wasn’t, this would probably never work.”

He was. All of his experiments worked too.

What about The Heimlich Counter-Maneuver and The Take-A-Wish Foundation? :stuck_out_tongue:

Those weren’t experiments, one was a maneuver and the other was a foundation

Suppose HL3 starts with Gman waking Gordon from 100 year stasis. Problem solved.

I doubt it would happen though, I don’t see the benefit, since Chell is in Portal and Gordon is in HL, two very different games. What would Chell be doing in the HL world, fighting zombies? What would Gordon be doing in test chambers?

Actually, lemons make better batteries than potatoes. :retard:

Again:

I don’t think this would ruin portal 2 for anyone, but I’ll say potential spoiler anyway. If you take a good look around in P2 you will actually find floatation rings for the borealis. I can’t remember which year from, possibly the 70s. I think I may even have got an achievement for finding it. Namely the “missing experiment” theres also an achievement for finding portraits. Haven’t went hunting yet, but what are the chances of them being someone from half life.

I don’t think chell will feature much if at all in half life, but a cameo would be nice.

Also given cave johnson’s love of testing, can u see the borealis having no test chambers at all?

and the 10/20 year time gap between HL1 & 2
and gman freezing time at the end of half-life 2
and the continuation of that scene at the beginning of episode 1
and again while Alyx is being revived by Vortigaunts
and that whole thing with the Borealis containing a time machine…
