HL2 vs HL1?

How could you let half life win? 2 voters ago it was perfectly equal, like it should be.

u mad

No he jelly

Half Life 2 is an amazing story and game. However, the original Half Life is even better. I tell you what, when Black Mesa comes out, it’s going to be the greatest game ever, at least in my opinion.

When I learned that HL2 was being done with a european setting…I was very disappointed! I was also disappointed when they left out many of the original monsters. I hope in HL3 they go back to the desert. Area 51 would be cool. HL1 took me much longer to finish than HL2 did.

2nd this

But it still stands, he was complaining about the unrealistic number of weapons that you always lumbered around with at all times in HL1, HL2 is in no way accomplishing any realism in that area either.

The way that I see it, the HEV is a exoskeleton, an archaic equivalent of the nanosuit. One thing that exoskeletons where designed for is to assist in lifting heavy equipment

You know, I would have preferred that Half Life 2 be set in the US instead of Bulgaria as well. I’m not sure why they felt like setting it there.

For the most part, I prefer HL1, but HL2’s ending is so much cooler. I find taking everyone down with an overpowered grav gun so much more fun than an annoying FPS platformer.

Still as a whole HL1. I feel it offers a greater sense of urgency and solitude. In HL1 you’re stuck in a giant research facility where EVERYTHING wants to kill you. HL2 on the other hand is more like “Gordon, you’re freaking awesome, go save people.”

HL1=Great
HL2=Great
Blackmesa=HL1+HL2=success

HL2 have too much lengths. Most of all the boring driving stages. HL1 got a better level design and I find it’s more diversified. The weapon sounds from HL1 are more pithy and the Deathmatch is fabulous. I understand that many like the second part more than the first, but I guess it’s up to the graphics and physics.

This. HL2 rocks because of graphics and HL1 rocks because it ROCKS in all aspects (beside of outdated graphics maybe… but back in the days HL1 had good graphics… so… np.)!
So what’s the better game now? HL1… for sure.

Edit:
HOW could you vote for HL2?? I can’t understand this… I would commit suicide in a world without HL1.

Yeah fuck hl2 ! They cant even make episode 3 …

NO! I’m tired seeing the States in games. It was a nice change although it could have been better.

Because USA is too mainstream. :freeman:

:retard:

I don’t think, that they think, that HL1 shouldn’t exist, because if HL1 didn’t exist, then HL2 wouldn’t exist either.

also you wouldn’t commit suicide because you wouldn’t know what you were missing and you are smarter than that i hope[/SIZE]

Edit: shit.

Maybe all people who voted for HL2 did not play HL1… or are just graphic-fetishists…

I voted for HL2 not because of the grapics, who cares about graphics.
I loved HL2 because of the story line, the AI rebel squad part, the Blue Gravity Gun parts, and over all more fun.

nah, theyre both great games…
about that eastern europe vs. USA settning thing:
i have read that its because of the UdsSR society,art,architecture and stuff
that had a great contrast concerning pre and post RC, incident, invasion or
whatever you want to call it
i still wonder how the *** eli, kliener, mossman and barney got there … perhaps gman intervention?

I think Half-Life 1 is a better game. It had incredible climate and its graphic back than was great. Your goal was to survive and only that mattered. It was something fresh.

Half-Life 2 would be just as good as Halif-Life 1 if it was what it was suppoused to be. Huge part of game/enemies/weapons were scrapped. Whole maps were scrapped. Watching first trailers of the game made me crap my pants - the climate! Unfortunately when it was released it didn’t have that great climate from the trailers anymore.

That’s just my opinion.

Ps. I’ll try to look for those old trailers and post links in this post.
