HL3 Starts titles music fade in from back. you find your self looking to your left head parallel to the floor. Alyx is still crying. a couple seconds go by the player then moves the mouse to the right and you see the Gman standing there looking down at you (scary as ****). long pause. Gman looks around at the situation and begins to speak to you directly. Alyx shocked turns her head. she is frightened seeing him there. Gman continues on his conversation hinting to you about the severe situation he now faces with his employers and what they are expecting of him to do if he fails them (the Gman is now getting desperate). Alyx interrupts asking angrily what he is doing here and gets up and tries to attack him out of anger. Gman freezes her in motion and continues on his conversation.
He hints that other world employers are not happy with what the combine has done. he starts to take Gordon away from the garage into a stasis outside of time like he did at the end of half life 2 fading away from the citadel. Alyx reacts and protests him taking Gordon away. You find yourself flying through space in a vision and he shows you the state of city 17 in ruins which you will eventually return to later on in the game. he says that it is mutually beneficial for both him and Gordon to get back the information that the combine has acquired on the location of the Borealis.
He gives Gordon an ultimatum regarding the information and says to Gordon that the situation has become bad enough that he is willing to use any means necessary to destroy the combine. if they can get a hold of the Borealis before the combine does it is possible that they can be destroyed and using Gordon is the most logical way to come about that task for his employers. he sends Gordan back from the vision and back to white forest but in a different location out of sight of Alyx vance and Dr Kliener who is comforting her and looking down struck. you the player resume mobility and walk towards them unknowingly to them. they are shocked and then the story sets in motion with you and Alyx paying respects to Eli and burying him and then setting off in the helicopter towards Judith’s last known coordinates in the helicopter.

the text I wrote on this thread is a section i took from the email. i didn’t include the preface as I thought everyone here already knew what happened at the end of hl2:ep2. headlined my initial thread response “my thoughts ep3” even though in the email i just reffered to it as hl3. I just wanted to include my thoughts since this thread is fucking called ep3 plot speculation. i don’t understand why you guys have such a problem with this. lol “as if to warn that its going to be crap” good one.
