Rythm Heaven? What are the different movements you use? Tap, and slide. It’s not like you could just use two buttons, is it?
The XL will just have a larger screen with the same resolution.

two buttons would be the absolutely most boring thing ever
Oh, as opposed to tapping a pen, which is of course the most exciting thing in the universe?
Both the wii and the DS have (obviously) got a lot of fanboys going crazy about both of them.
What I’m saying is that pretty much all games for both these consoles are overrated since their consoles were so overrated.
Although I see what you mean, and if it makes you happier I’ll take the DS and Wii of the list :'3
I don’t even have a DS and I still put many hours in that game on my PC. :3
Fail on my part, sorry.
I don’t really understand where your animosity towards the touch-screen aspect of the DS is coming from. From what I’m reading that seems to be specifically why you dislikethe DS so much. I suppose that it is a control mechanic very much up to opinion, and if you don’t like it, it would ruin the entire experience of the DS for you, seeing as that is basically what it’s all about.
Having said that, I still get the feeling you’re not really giving it a shot. What games have you played for the DS? You’ve mentioned the Zelda games, but sure, it’s a general consensus that they aren’t the greatest games in the zelda series, particularly phantom hourglass. You said you found The World Ends With You to be cool, but you didn’t like the combat system. Interesting, considering the combat system is the one and only thing that makes that game unique from the thousands of other JRPGs out there.
Have you tried playing any multiplayer games on the DS with friends? As I mentioned in an earlier post, being able to play multiplayer with only one person actually owning the cartridge is a fantastic feature. Have you played New Super Mario Bros? How about any of the multiplayer games focused on minigames? That’s where the DS’ control mechanics really shine. How about any of the classic remakes that were made officially for the DS, like Chronotrigger?
And if we’re going to go into the PSPs (granted excellent) ability to emulate classics once flashed, don’t forget that the DS has the R4.
I’ve played many games on the DS, and the touchscreen has always seemed little more than a gimmick (unless we’re talking about games like the aforementioned Touch). It’s an awkward mechanic most of the time, and a horrible control method for movement.
I’ve played the New Super Mario Brothers, the Crystal Chronicles and I think a couple of others in muliplayer on the DS, and while they were good, none of them could hold a candle to the awesome might of Monster Hunter. That’s a game series that I have wasted untold hours on over the years, way over a hundred hours, and the majority of them in co-op.
And the emulation on the PSP is just great. I played Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for the first time in years. I recently played through the old Klonoa game and occasionally go back to playing FF6 as well. A while ago, I completed my old favourites, LOZ: Oracle of Seasons/Ages for the zillionth time.
All on my PSP! I’m sorry, but that’s just too awesome.
EDIT: What’s the R4?
I’ve heard of Oracle of Seasons, but what’s Oracle of Time?
Sorry, but I just had to point that out.
I think you’ve gotten console awesomeness mixed up with portable awesomeness.
There was Oracle of Ages, maybe that’s what he means.
He already said Ages.
Okay my contribution:
Pretty much anything from VALVe or Gearbox sux.
…
No, but seriously, (in no particular order):
Sine when is Blue Shift overrated? I thought it was universally agreed that it either sucked or was decent at best but nothing special.
Also, L4D2 doesn’t bring enough to the table? Dude…
Notice the ammunition that set aflame that walking undead over there.
ie, AMMO THAT SETS ZOMBIES ON FIRE!
:s igh:, yep. It’s been a long time since I wore it, and it still fits.
half life 1… There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that game could ever be entertaining. praised for being innovative? LOL please, i’ve taken shits more innovative than half life.
Ya know, by criticizing Half Life on a forum about a remake of Half Life, we can tell you are a troll.
Hey, it’s your thread.
Maybe he liked Half-Life 2 and hoped Black Mesa would make Half-Life 1 “not suck as much.”
No i was kidding
I played a very little bit of half life after i heard of this mod (LIKE 5 YEARS AGO) and I liked what I saw, and I realized how immersive it was especially for such an old game. But I felt that the immersion was kinda… disrupted by the fact that the graphics and such were outdated. So I’ve been waiting to play the mod to enjoy half life
. I feel this will bring new life to it
Whoops, my bad. Not sure what you’re getting at with your awesomeness point…
I’m saying Zelda is awesome.
You best be.
Also: Nintendo made shitty handheld Zeldas, yet Capcom made fucking awesome ones.
I think we know who wins.
Hey, I liked Phantom Hourglass… and Spirit Tracks.
