There already is a thread for best games, here’s one for over-rated ones. Keep in mind, they don’t have to be bad, just not as good as people say they are. Here’s mine:

  1. Bioshock: Its a good game, but the gameplay is nothing revolutionary.
  2. Fallout 3: Just Oblivion with guns. And that is not a good thing.
  3. COD 4: It was fun the first time, but infinite enemies get irritating, and multiplayer is average.
  4. Halo: There is just nothing special about it.

  2. Half-Life 2. Sorry, but while I loved Half-Life 1 I thought the second one was lacking.
  3. Far Cry 2 was hard to play. The world was too big and the story not really catching
  4. WoW. No duh

Can’t think of a fifth one. I thought these up in 30 seconds, might try to think of some more reasons as to why they are on the list later.

The fuck is with all the CoD (particularly 4) hate ITT.

CoD4 had arguably the best original single player campaign ever designed for a first person shooter of its genre, and the multiplayer is still fun as hell.

Don’t even put it in the same bracket as Gaylo.

Halo (not anything special in any way)
WoW (there are better mmo’s out there nowadays)
Gears of War (was intuitive to begin with, but far too linear, repetitive, and dull)
CoD :WaW (I loved CoD1, but since then they’ve been going downhill)
Crysis (yes, the graphics are amazing, but that is where it stops)

I dislike Fallout 3 because the “hundreds of choices” were really just the same thing over and over, and the most you could do was nuke Megaton.

Halo is just over rated.

Call of Duty 4 is fun, but it’s just another tactical shooter attempting to be a real war.

I tried WoW, it was fun, but it got boring really quick.

Gears of War’s controlled were really awkward in my opinion, and it was mostly graphics.

And who plays first person shooters on a console? Fgts, that’s who. If there’s a PC variant of any game, it is best suited for use as a positive example of the game.

Halo being on many of the list make me dissapointed to say the least. But I’m not surprised. It seems like “List of Overrated Games” were desinged for the sole purpose of Halo bashing.
Of all the bad games that sell well, you had to pick a game that’s actually fun. I mean, what about Dynasty Warriors? They suck, yet still sell like hot cakes. And don’t get me started on Call of Duty 4 and 4 1/2 (WaW)!
It’s not the fact that Halo is bad, it’s just that gaming sites/magazines hype it up to fucking oblivion! When poking fun at Duke Nukem Forever by showing off man made Milestones that took less time to acheive then DNF, IGN put Halo as one of them.

Now, I love Halo, but I wouldn’t exactly rank it next to “The Wright Brothers” or “The Moon landing” as one of humanity’s great acheivments. IGN is just retarded. Don’t blame the game, blame the over excited journalist.

So yeah, screw you all and your Call of Duty remak… I’m sorry, sequels.

Have you ever noticed all the Call of Duty games that were worth a shit were made by Infinity Ward?

All the CoD’s Treyarch made were just a cosmetically redone version of whatever came before that one. Not every game was a remake. Look at Modern Warfare.

And yes, Gaylo is the most overhyped game of the century.
