Fanboy.

Well, that’s the point. As I said, they don’t have to be bad games, just overrated. And I have a preference for Fallout 3 bashing.
I just lold very hard for no reason and now my throat hurts
I know thats not what you wrote but my brain saw something like that… ◔ ◡ ◔
Honestly:
CoD 4
Gears of War
Halo
Crysis
World of warcraft
In no particular order.
I actually though Crysis was really good. If you have a computer good enough, it can be really fun, and the level design on many levels is great. Too bad about the AI though.
CoD 4 was actually the most original game I’ve seen, in terms of story telling and graphics. The atmosphere on almost every level, keeps you on your toes and some citations even take your breath away. The only thing that disappointed me, was that one of my dumb ass friends, ruined the ending for me. It was nominated number 1 game of 07, in the Christmas issue of Game Informer for a reason.
As for Over-rated games, GoW and Far Cry 2 are 1st on the list. Far Cry 1 was so much interesting, with it’s mutant outbreaks and repetitive islands.
I HERD YUO LIEK WRASSLIN’
I’m not going to flame you for this, but this is a stupid observation. You are comparing two very different kind of games. I know they are in the same series, but it is a very different kind of game. (Complete and total RPG to a FPS/RPG kind of game).
However I can say that Fallout 2 sucks hard. I haven’t actually played Fallout 1. Before you flame me for that, keep in mind I missed a scorpion 6 times at point blank range with a pistol and died. I had a 68% chance of hit. What the hell.
And why’s everyone bashing Fallout 3? Sure it was completely overrated, probably deserving more of an 80-85 rating (due to the bugs and lack of some content) but it still was a real fun game. Especially with Liam Neeson.
1 halo / fallout 3
2 half life 2
3 call of duty 4
Fixed for great justice.
Oblivion
FarCry 2
Gears of War
All of the call of duty games
Rainbow Six: VEGAS
Look into Master Cheif’s visor. It’s reflecting a guy with a crowbar. Remind you of anybody?
As for my name:
My name is John Miller
Miller rhymes with Killer
John Killer
I noticed the coincidence of John Miller and John-117 (Master “Bitch”), so I added 117+1 at the end of my name net name. Trust me, it’s ALOT better than my old gamertag.
And if I was a fanboy, I would be saying “OMG HALO DESRVS ALL HYPE IT HAZ LOL ROFLCOPTOR LOLZ!!!” Instead, I’m pointing out that some people just take how good Halo is too far. Just like wiht Call of Duty.
And I’ll admit there was a time when I did enjoy the Call of Duty games, but I relaize it’s an average FPS with very little going for it, and it’s not fun anymore (in my opinion.)
And I find it funny how some good games are on these list. Like Fallout 3, Half-Life 2 (REALLY?). Here are some other games that I found in the other billion “Most overrated games EVA!” threads:
Duke Nukem 3D
Super Mario 64
Tetris
Pong
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (REALLY?)
Left 4 Dead
See a pattern?
Actually I don’t.
Oh really.
Hmm, so it does.
This thread is amusing, please, continue.
Oh noes! It’s da mod!
Agreed. While the insane lag from graphics that can’t be run this century slowed it down a bit, if your computer could play it on medium settings the storyline actually wasn’t too bad. The AI were pretty stupid now that I think about it…
And for a game that had a decent single-player, the multiplayer was actually really well made. I rarely find games with a good single player and multiplayer.
Although I suppose I can admit that the graphics are a bit overrated. Mostly since the average gamer can’t so much as dream about them let alone run them.
Crysis Warhead fixes up much of the optimization problems from the original Crysis. Crysis Wars is the multiplayer component, and is actually quite fun. And you “suppose” the graphics are overrated, eh? I think it’s the most graphically accomplished game that’s out at the moment. Whether you can run it well or not is irrelevant, a game shouldn’t become ‘overrated’ when some of the market can’t fully appreciate it while others can.
I’ve played both Halo:CE and Cod 4, and i have to say none of 'em are over-rated.
Halo is mostly about killin’ and killin’ with good gameplay, i wouldn’t have liked it much if it weren’t for the Flood, after that i really started liking it and would really like to try 2 and 3. Haven’t tried multiplayer.
While Cod 4 was about its Fps gameplay and dramatic scripted events, which i absolutely loved. And whoever said its multiplayer stank, needs to actually play it first. There are very few multiplayer that i get hooked to, and Cod 4’s was one that i can always come back to.
And Shadow of Colossus over-rated? This gem of a game is one of the most under-rated games ever. Thank God by some luck i came upon it, it’ll always be in my “Gaming Hall Of Fame”.
There are so many other games that people have said “over-rated” aren’t. All of these choices are personal view depending on the players taste. Taking their views personally is a waste of energy and time, and thus not to be taken seriously. All this is just fighting over each other choices or making the other accept your views. And we all know what the result will be. :o
It makes me sad that so many people are bashing great games. (Fallout 3, Halo, Call of Duty 4, World of Warcraft, Gears of War, etc.) But I guess you could say the same about me. I think the games in my list are complete trash.
