You kidding? That part felt like such a cop-out to me. There was more to Stalingrad than the stuff covered in EatG! :fffuuu:
I had fun with it. I don’t consider the CoD series to really be a war simulator, they just take the most famous or infamous scenarios and dilute it to a fun (while vintage looking) gaming experience.
It could be argued that all of the famous battles that are portrayed in CoD are cop-outs, as, naturally there were more to all those as well.
The thing about CoD 5 was that it had a few good levels which kept me going through the torrent of bad ones. The one in the plane and the tank levels were fun, and there were a couple others I can’t really remember.
Oblivion is not overrated.
Yeah, who put that? That game is awesome, unlike its sequel, Fallout 3.
Oblivion. Not worthy of the RPG name, lacks intresting characters (And if you love Baldur’s Gate 2, that’s a bad thing). There was more emphasis on exploring andso, and I am more of those “Storyline goes first, rest comes later”, instead of the Oblivions “Open ended world comes first, rest comes later”. It lacked RP options, as well, so you couldn’t really define your character trough dialog. Still, I can see why some people like it, but it’s just not for me.
Call of Duty 4. Single player campaign was lacking, not so special to what I am used to (but then again, the only other two FPS games I have actually played are HL1 and 2 )
Homeworld. Giving the ships orders required zooming in on them, zooming out, zooming in on the target, and then click. ORB did a much better job.
NFS: Carbon. Its Most Wanted at night!
Anyone who says is Fallout 3 isn’t a good game is suffering the same fate as Psyborg.
I lol’d. You don’t know what a sequel is, right?
^ I think he was emphasizing on the “fact” that Fallout 3 is just an Oblivion with guns and post-nuclear setting.
Don’t be so dumb Imonfire. Go laugh out louded on your toilet.
I lol’d at how badly you missed the reference to the similarities between Oblivion and Fallout.
Even if I look hard for the word “similarities”, or any similar word, I can’t find it. brb gettin’ glasses.
Video games are for fags.
It uses the same engine. Yes. The same engine.
People who say that Fallout 3 is just Oblivion in the future with guns. Think about that sentance again. Two major differences, the stupididity outstands me.
It’s like saying Counterstrike is just Half life deathmatch just with a different setting and enitrely new playstyle.
Fallout 3 is just Oblivion except brown! :ninja:
I lol’d at how you accused John of being a fanboy for liking Halo, yet gave no reason for CoD4 being good.
Pot calling kettle, much?
(I’m poised waiting for a highly-cognitive reply - read: childish edit of my post.)
Actually, it pretty much is.
The key is that Oblivion worked as a medieval rpg. It was not made to be an FPS. So, when Fallout 3 came along, it was essentially Oblivion, with badly tacked on, yet very important gun gameplay on the side. Thus, Fallout 3 took everything good about Oblivion and added in guns. Thus, Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns, while still being very similar. I know that is really confusing and I could use some sleep right now.
CoD4. Fuck CoD4. It feels like the designers didn’t know how to balance a game and just decide to fill it with “badass” and “lol asplodes”. In singleplayer you’ve got infinitely respawning enemies, quick time events, ridiculously linear level design, allies who won’t move up until you’re at least 20 meters ahead of them with no backup and enemies with magic powers who use divination to headshot you with a pistol at 50 meters. Then you get to multiplayer, which is a huge clusterfuck of airstrikes, grenades, insta-kill helicopters and grenade launchers. If you’re on the losing team, you’re going to die. A lot. Because the enemy team will inevitably have at least 4 airstrikes and 2 helicopters ready to call in right after the last one goes away. Every second spawn you’ll be dead within seconds because an enemy is right next to you, or a grenade is right next to you, or an airstrike is right above you, or a heli is aiming right at you. There’s no comeback mechanism - if you’re losing at one minute into the game, you’re going to be losing for the whole game.
Rite.
I guess it’s a matter of opinion but I far preffered Fallout 3’s range of characters, weapons and overall concept. The game has recieved good reviews because it is fantasticly great. Oblivion is also Fantastically great, but it really depends on which style you like.
