The story is lame, but the gameplay is awesome, and he is right, most people say it’s bad because they can’t run it.
I didn’t find the game mechanics to be great. It’s a first person shooter, but the actual shooting was horrifying. Honestly, the best weapon was the lead pipe (melee and first weapon) combined with electricity (omg, first plasmid). That just isn’t how a game should work.
The hacking got old after awhile. I’ve never been into that kind of mini-game but man, how can anyone enjoy it that much.
Most of the plasmids were useless or just plain awful. The tornado one, the bug one… You mostly used electricity, incinerate, and telekinesis.
The enemies were mostly just zombies. Thats not an overused enemie at all. :meh:
I have to agree with DinoThrasher insofar as Bioshock’s enemies are concerned. The A.I. wasn’t particularly well thought out (the patterns were quite predictable) and for the variety of enemies there were there didn’t -feel- like there was any variety when I fought them.
The presentation however was amazing, and the story (while I found the “twist” excessively predictable) was very interesting. Rapture was beautiful.
I hope they correct these downfalls for the sequel.
Wait, ET sucks. We all know it sucks. It’s most famous for sucking. How is it overrated?

You have some points there about Bioshock, Bioshock 2 however you will play as a Big Daddy and the gameplay seems to be much diffirent, there is a new 9 minute gameplay video about the game… Check it out.

I already played Crysis to the end. Crysis: Warhead too, because I thought it’s better and has more action and it has a bit more action and the cutscenes were cool but after a while of playing I was bored of the game.

First off, why is it that so many people add great games to their list? Like Bioshock. Okay, some things that over enthusiastic IGN says is bullshit (like how “it was one of the hardest choices in gaming history to harvest the little sisters or not.” Yeah, there’s a fucking aceivment for not harvesting any. What a moral delema. Or how “multiplayer would depelte the greatness of the single-player,” even though we all know damn well Half-Life 1 had multiplayer) but it’s still a fun game.
And second off, how the hell is Haze overrated? The reviews gave it it’s rightful score of 4.5/10!

John, the entire POINT is to add great games to the list. It can’t be overrated if people don’t think it’s great now can it?
Oh, and I’m too lazy to scroll down, but which ever one of you told me to check out Bioshock 2 I read the article on it in a magazine (mind blanking on name) and depending on how much money I have and what else is coming out at the time, I think I’ve already considered it. I’m not saying Bioshock was HORRIBLE, but I don’t think it’s a game worth raving about.
Yeah pretty much. This thread is just personal opinions, nothing more. But because its personal opinions, there will be ‘juvenile schoolyard insults’. There’s no such thing as over-rated games, there’s just over-hyped games that no one loved, or just AAA games that got suited to specific audiences.

I’ve always wanted to go to the moon. Call of Duty 5 has a FANTASTIC campaign.
I really appreciated the tribute to Enemy at the Gates and the Russian side of the campaign in general. The American side sucked.
