Your Top FIve Over-rated games

dude, wtf is wrong with you, look at the last post date!

 1. Tie between Halo and Gears of war. Both are incredibly popular, both deliver the same generic gameplay.

 2. Crysis. While revolutionary in terms of visuals, it really has a dodgy story and multiplayer is just tedious.

 3. COD42 (Modern Warfare 2). Not bagging out the game itself, but multiplayer is a lot worse than anyone could have made it out to be. Still fun to troll though by no-scoping someone with a bolt action rifle.

 4. Mercenaries 2 (PS2 version). Holy shit, it was like Mercenaries 1 but shorter, lacking in plot and had a deceptive Stockpile system which sounds awesome but you never end up using due to the game’s length.

 5. Prototype. All my friends said it was awesome. 5 minutes of quick play bored me to tears.

This thread was ressurected… WHY?!

1.) Crysis
2.) Crysis
3.) Crysis

Thank you.
Let’s face it, EVERYTHING that has praise and is popular is in some way overrated. There are some that say Half-Life is overrated. Is it? Well, we can only speak for ourselves.

 1. Halo (A lot of people I meet are always praising the game and I’ve played all 3 and don’t like any of them)
 2. Mercenary Games (They both look really fun when watching videos of them but I’ve played them both, bought 2, and don’t enjoy playing them myself)

That’s all I got.

Typing of the Dead > Word of Warcraft :stuck_out_tongue:

Jesus Christ, why is Halo always number 1 on everyone’s list? It’s not that bad of a game!

How many other games have sticky grenades that are actually fun to use (especially in multiplayer)?

Where’s Madden? Now THAT is an overhyped game!

Who really cares about sticky grenades? Anyway, SSBB has them.

To all the people who said CS or CS:S, you guys are idiots, there’s no way that game was overhyped, it started as nothing, a free mod on the internet, but it became so popular it made more money than half-life.

CS is a legendary game, not because of hype or advertising, but because it’s such a fun game to play with your friends. (if you have any)

Sounds like Halo.

If for you a bunch of dudes running around in coloured metal suits flying on small purple airplanes that shoot laz0rs and green jeeps that kill you if you’re in it’s way and having instantly regenerating health is more fun than a team of counter-terrorists and swat guys trying to take down a gang of terrorists and prevent them from blowing shit up on one of thousands of maps, then I guess so…

CS requirements:
pentium III 128mb ram geforce/ati 32mb

Halo requirements:
xbox or xbox360 and xbox live

I’m not saying that Halo is more fun than Counterstrike. I’m just saying that the reason you say that CS is a great game are the same reasons I think Halo is a great game.

But if you think starting a round, getting killed within two minutes, forced to wait another 10 while your team gets raped, rinse and repeat for another 20 rounds is more fun, then I guess so…

Your point?

I am a point? Do you have proof?

Now you’re just dodging questions.

Edit: Oh, I see what you did there.
Damn it, I always do that.

But seriously, what’s your point?

Dude, the arguement for cs was made that it must be good because it rose out of nothing to become a great fps. Halo got the shit hyped and advertised out of it before it came out. Its not horrible but it defiantly doesn’t deserve all the craze its gotten.

Edit: But really any game is pretty fun if your playing it with your friends. I’ve played co-op games that were generic as hell and boring but somehow the stuff my friend and i did made it a blast.

And neither does Counterstrike… or any game for that matter.

I wasn’t dodging your questions, I just couldn’t resist posting that first. :stuck_out_tongue:

what?

How about you play better and not die? High k/d ratio FTW.

That even a low power computer can play CS while Halo requires you to buy a separate system and the online system to play it.

I love this thread!

and fuck you whoever said final fantasy series. :retard:

Yep, this thread was pretty much designed as flame bait. List a few popular franchises and get all the fanboys and fangirls pissed off. It’s the classic trolling trick and it always pays off.
