NeoTokyo looks frickin’ awesome, definitely one of the better looking source mods in a while.
Natural Selection 2 (ok I know its not a mod, but it used to be) looks unbelievable. The most impressive part to me was how professional, polite, and informative their public forums are. Not only do the developers regularly contribute and discuss with fans, they have also released a series of video podcasts showcasing the technology and tools they have produced for the game. Its really quite inspiring.
How so?
Getting worked up about people getting worked up about gun sounds.
How do you not see this?
I wasn’t asking you.
HL2:
Dear Esther
Minerva
Mistake of Pythagoras
Sity (it isn’t too exciting yet, but I love the potential)
Penetration (shitty name, great mod)
HL:
Point of View
Peaces Like Us
Black Ops
Poke646: Vendetta
Someplace Else
Mistake of Pythagoras
was one of the most original mods i played for hl2 ,which didn’t have costum stuff in it ;x , the only one for me
Definitely add Dystopia to the list- the game was quite a lot of fun and the soundtrack was really awesome.
- Black Mesa
- Operation Black Mesa
- Guard Duty
- Zombie Master
- Uhhhh… you know… that OTHER one.
I agree. I actually bought the physical copy of the soundtrack. I can’t wait for this mod.
23-down you had a lot of the hl mods I love on there!
Although you missed a few:
Mission Failed
Vengence and its sequel, Rebellion (Some of it is in french, but there are english subtitles)
Project Quantum Leap and its sequel, Issues (although you have its third iteration on there)
Edge of Darkness
Spirit of Half-Life (technically a tools mod)
Xen Exploration Team (actually unfinished, but the demo is just so epic)
Virtual-Reality: The Real World
Conundrum 1 and 2
The Long Night
CWC Mappack Initiative
All wonderful mods.
- Dear Esthar
- MINERVA
- Get a Life
- Riot Act
- uhhhh…BM?
I don’t play multiplayer ones, really. [/size]
- Dear Esther: Most thought provoking mod ever made; can’t wait for it’s reconstruction to be complete.
- Zombie Panic Source: Actually, it was much more fun a year or so ago than it is now. Many of the updates have changed it into seemingly a new game (a lot like TF2) which is not necessarily a good thing.
- Age of Chivalry: This mod is real fun to play, though it’s aggravating that it gives everyone extreme low frame rate (>20) which is rather ridiculous. The developers are claiming to fix that in the new content pack which is being released in the next several days.
I’ll add if I remember more and/or care to add.
My favorite mods are:
MINERVA: Metastasis
Mistake of Pythagoras
Dear Esther
I’ve never played any other mods, but my favorite upcoming mods are:
Black Mesa
Operation Black Mesa
Opposing Force 2
ONLY released mods:
-Garry’s Mod
-Empires 2.24d
-Goldeneye: Source
-Eternal Silence
-Fortress Forever
dear esther !!! amazing “game” more of an experience
Age of Chivalry was good before it was featured on Steam. Now there’s too much retards playin’ it. I remember when everyone was excited for the patch 1.2 (or was it 1.1?). Finally the gibing would be there and arrows would have been fixed!
I HATE that mod! It tries too hard to be realistic and fails miserably! So what’s left is a painfully slow and unfun shit-fest. Then again, I only played the Steam version.
Anyway, I recently started playing “Zombie Panic: Source.” It’s like Halo 3’s Infection mode, but has a much slower pace. Other than the terrible lag when climbing ladders and going through windows, it’s a fun mod and is great for the poor bastards who need a free zombie killing experience until they get enough money for Left 4 Dead.
I remember playing some hardcore dodgeball source. So much fun, the rooftop maps, and the maps where you could get onto the other side.
Great mod.
- SMod: Redux
- Garrysmod
- Dystopia
- Obsidian Conflict (I’m surpised no one has mentioned this, it’s like synergy but with a lot more stuff and hasn’t been totally ruined.)
- Minerva: Metastasis
Un-realeased mods:
- Black Mesa
- Darck Source
- Sven II
C’mon, guys. No one’s mentioned SMod? It’s really good, once you know how to use it.
