…and that’s it! Every other mod I’ve played/looking forward to is either not released, has laggy as hell servers (it’s even worse if they’re the ONLY servers), somthing’s wrong with the mod so I can’t complete it (Joutomaa), or just outright shit!

I CAN give you a list of my most hated mods:

  1. Age of Chivlarly: Everytime I play this, I want to cry. It’s THAT bad! You move like a slug and your weapons suck!
  2. Synerghy: Lag, you spwan with no ammo and health, lack of servers, and more lag. Such a great concept brought down by stupididty. Let’s hope “Follow Freeman” turns out better.

  3. Insurgency: Realism doesn’t mean fun. This mod is like Call of Duty 4 but even worse! At least they have the decency to let you respawn… I think.
  4. Goldeneye: Source: Okay, I had fun with this mod, but the lack good servers ruins the game. It also doesn’t help that these few servers have one hit kills, you spawn with only slappers or knifes, no map rotation (I played on the same 2 maps for a freakin’ hour!), and LAG!

If someone want to send me MODDB links to GOOD mods with plentiful, lag-free, and GOOD servers, along with fun (and I mean FUN) gameplay, and one that’s RELEASED, go ahead and try to restore my faith in Half-Life 2’s modding community.

Eternal Silence, I played v2.0 for some time and it was real fun.

Afraid of Monsters DC, I got stuck at that House after the Forest part I think. Really scary but the beginning is incredibly frustrating. I was close to giving up.

I’ve always wanted a cleaned up version of the Half Life 2 beta. Downloading now!
And MINERVA: Metastasis is beautiful. Same with Someplace Else. The best part? Adam Foster is working on Episode 3 now!

Is there any continuity to that mod? I think I played it quite a while back (either that one or one that has a similar concept) and it was just random clips from the HL2 Leak (I believe).

Unfortunatly, that’s exactly what it is.
The only real level in the traditonal sense is The Borealis. At least that’s what I think. I can only load three of the maps.
NOW I see why people hate it so much!

However, I liked The Borealais level. If only there was more ammo and health I might of completed it!

1.Ok, I wanted to give it a try but I can’t get it working :frowning: . I can actually see “hl2.exe” in the task-manager but nothing is happening.
2.Then I removed the whitespace in the folder name, restarted Steam, and got to the loading screen. That’s it. Program’s frozen. When I tried again I had the same issue as in 1.

Did it work for you right away?

EDIT: I made the mod use the Orange Box Engine. Now it works.

EDIT: No. It doesn’t. I can’t start Ep1 either, any Mod using Ep1 engine. :frowning:
