Your first videogame (not arcade)

My first game was a children’s maths learning game called Millies Maths House and around the same time a Peanuts game where you could colour in Snoopy and print him off.

First real games (All on the Macintosh) I was about 6 when I played all these (1998 ).

I’ll add as I remember.

First Windows PC games I played were online games from ezone.

First console I played was C64, games were: Paperboy and Rambo.

I also played games that my dad programmed, like a breakout clone but it was with Star Wars light sabres in stead of paddles.

I don’t know which of these was my absolute first but I played all these around the same time.

Guess which one out of all of these I played the most?

Oh god, I’m going to feel really old saying this. It’d be something on the Commodore 64, like Jet Set Willy, Ghostbusters, or one of the many ancient games whose names I can’t remember. Probably somewhere less than ten years old, say about seventeen years ago.

Probably Adventure Boy on the Sega Master System or Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

My brother had Commodore 64 and loads of games on (pirated) cassetes. So it will be one of c64 games.

Man you’re old :expressionless:

Do you have to take frequent pauzes to catch a breather when typing?

27 is old these days?

Good lord :frowning:

Wow. I figured that most of the people here were young, but damn.

My first video game console was one of those pre-programmed boxes that you connected to your TV. Mine had paddles, joysticks and a light gun, but didn’t take cartridges. I thought it was a Magnavox Odyssey, but after looking it up, it couldn’t be.

Yeah, yeah. Off my lawn, etc. etc…

The earliest I can remember is Paperboy on Commodore 64. All I ever did was break as much stuff as I possibly could. Hitting the old people was funny.

worms
i never forget good ol’ Worms.
But NOT the 3D versions. they suck.
2D is awesome

Spyro the Dragon was my first … still love every second of it to this day :3

i have Spyros 1,2 and 3

Ha! I think I found it!

This is what I had: the Coleco Telstar Ranger.

Boy, do I feel old now… :’(

You had worms :fffuuu:

donkey kong on atari 2600

By all these “my first game was ,” I get the impression that the average age on this forum is like 16. I definitely expected more Atari, C64, Apple II, DOS, NES, etc.

I feel old at 25 lol.

I think it is very accurate to say the the average age on this board is 16-17.

Half-Life, I was 7 at the time, fucked up my dreams pretty bad.

This is for all those kids who have no idea what a Sierra Adventure game is lol: Space Quest 5.

Space Quest was my favorite and most humorous of all the sierra games…common janitor in space turns hero lol. Originally text/keyboard input with EGA graphics and graduated to mouse input with VGA graphics. I wonder if kids today would still find these games fun. Probably not, kids today don’t seem to have the patience or attention span to appreciate them, but they were the shit when I was a kid lol.

My sister is six. She just played through bioshock.
She now wants to play half-life 2 with me.
:freeman:

Sonic 2 on the Megadrive 2; my first game, and still my favourite!
