somewhere there’s a kid with a grandpa who hunts, and that kid is about to buy shades and a trenchcoat at salvation army, and a greyhound ticket to Washington

Whoa Whoa Whoa, so you’re telling me that my family/friends at my house can play on my xbox and its games? Wow Xbox 1 = revolutionary!!!

they say they’re willing to let them, for now

I think Microsoft is just advertising for Sony right now.

Is this one of the fabled 15 exclusives Microsoft was talking about?

“Harnessing the overwhelming power of the most advanced gaming system ever conceived…”

googles LocoCycle

Oh god this isn’t a joke please kill me now.

Well I guess that line is a joke, though I can hardly take it any more or less seriously than the game itself.

That’s surely a joke. It isn’t true. It can’t be. Can it?

Well that sounds…slightly less bad than it was before. Still for a second there I thought it was a joke the way it started it out with “Because every Xbox One owner has a broadband connection”. I thought for sure it was satire until I kept reading and it wasn’t funny anymore…

Microsoft is making the same mistakes Sony did back in the announcement and launch of the PS3: a mix of arrogance and excess of self-confidence caused by being in the dominant side for a few years now.

I just hope that, like Sony, all this hubris comes back to bite them in the ass and they become humbler.

Or rather go out of business

Only if Sega comes back into the console business.

I think there would be a lot of trouble if Microsoft went out of business. I was just reading about the problems that might result from Microsoft stopping support for windows XP. Imagine if they had to stop supporting every version of windows.

Making a move from one version of Windows to another isn’t that big of a deal, so I imagine moving away from Windows wouldn’t either. If MS went out of business, everyone would just switch to Mac or Linux, including businesses.

The console division going out of business, not the whole company.

They should introduce a new even smaller Xbox 360 with twice the RAM, doesn’t scratch discs when rotated and doesn’t RRoD and everyone would be happy.

Support for XP HAS ended, I thought.

Edit: April next year apparently. But I think we’ll cope

So, uh, how about that pricetag?

this, and

yes please
