Xbox One Discussion Thread

underclocking a CPU for no reason is apple’s style too haha (iphone 4s 0.8ghz)

i cant believe I’m actually gonna have to buy this crap if I want to play Halo 5. maybe that’ll be the one that finally gets a pc port. Maybe microsoft will use it as a last ditch savior for the new console if it flops as anticipated, and 343 will be forced to rush it out by easter

Can’t they just resolve heating issues by drilling some miscellaneous vents/holes all over it? Or sticking a little fan somewhere?

It would probably even help the '80s cassette player look they’re going for if they put a fuckton of ventilation holes in the top.

Are you serious? you expect microsoft to pay $0.05 for a fan that’ll greatly benefit it?

is it just me or has been MS been more derp and $$$ than usual lately

What if I want to get away from the outside world, AND the internet, just kick back in my poorly lit room and race around on Forza, but no I gotta be connected to Microsoft just so they can make sure I’m not pirating shit, why don’t I just connect myself to the fuckin’ system so you can monitor me? oh wait…

Don’t laugh folks, we’re not far off…

Oh P.S

When I get my laptop.

I’m getting Half-Life 2 again, Black Mesa again. I’m going to max out my graphics card. AND I’M MAXING OUT SETTINGS ON BLACK MESA AND TIME TO KICK SOME FUCKING XENIAN AND MILITARY ASS!

Do you get paid for every uppercase character you use on internet forums?

You can max out the settings all you like uppercase warrior, but source is still source at the moment.

Jumping in here to join in on the circle jerk of hate. I’m glad I’ve always gone with PC gaming, and it looks like I’ll keep going. With any luck the anticipated xbox One flop will lead to a resurgence in PC gaming. I don’t know if it’s just me, but a lot of people I know have switched to PC gaming recently and I’m wondering if more people than just my friends are making the switch.

Even the most hardcore xbox bro and Mountain Dew 'n cowaduty guy I know got on his steam account (which he never uses) last night to tell me that he wants my help building a gaming PC. There’s hope for the world.

Glad to see you’re still an elitist dick.

To be fair that was used relatively ironically, one should understand that just about any time the phrase “there’s hope for the world” is used in nearly any context.

Well, to be fair, taking into account how you have acted in the past, might be a bit hard to tell sarcasm/irony from you with those kind of statements.

That said, what do you think of the PS4? Sony seems to be hitting all the right spots so far.

Except the silly share button thing. Is it going to ship with Yellow White Red cables for SDTVs? I heard all the big consoles are going HD or bust.

I like the idea of the share button. And it’ll be useful for people who stream. Being able to have video recording in the background all the time and then being able to pick out screenshots from it is a really cool idea and something I wish I could do on PC.

The share button is only there to use if you want it. You are not forced to use it if you don’t want to. Besides, the PS4 does not require an internet connection, so there’s really no reason to force it on games.

Our biggest provincial cable provider went HD or bust with their new linux-based cable-box. Reportedly over 80% of old boxes were replaced, the world is still spinning.

The kinect/ps4 social media sharing buttons will collect your high scores and facial expressions and morph them into a formula that will then be sold to fortune 500 companies and big box stores to advertise to you like those holograms on the Citadel that know your name and history

this guy gets it
