Same here. Uncharted 1 and 2, Heavy Rain, God of War, all great.
I simply can’t stand Resistance though. It’s the blandest, most generic, most boring, and most awful first-person shooter I have ever played, besides Darkest of Days.
Then again, I’ve only played the first one. Is the second one any better?
To be honest, I never beat the first one, even though I thought the aliens looked freakin’ awesome. The gameplay was too repetitive and there were too few checkpoints. I don’t know why I listed it as a good exclusive FPS. The Killzone series is really the only other exclusive FPS for PS3, but I never got into those, they look much more generic than Resistance.
As the other users have stated, those games aren’t exclusive for the Xbox 360.
Regarding Resistance;
I think the first game was fun to play through in split-screen mode. I haven’t tried the second game yet.
I got an Xbox because I could afford it… pretty much the same that applies to anyone who doesn’t like my car, laptop, etc etc
The games are pretty decent, but my brother has a PS3, as do a few of my mates. So I’m actually glad when stuff like the episodes from liberty city make it to PS3
Shame that I couldn’t play MGS4, I loved the series and MGS3 is probably in my top 5 games. But MGS rising is coming to 360, which might not be as good as 4, but its better than a kick in the tits
Resistance 2 is sooo much better than Resistance 1.
How so?
Will I miss any of the story if I skip over to 2?
Better AI, better visuals, insane sound design, great cinematic cutscenes that are all in game, much better story, great multiplayer, and alotta other stuff. U’ll miss some of the story, but its not gamebreaking. I played the 2nd b4 the first and enjoyed it alot. I just borrowed the first from a friend to help clear up the story abit.
Mmmmm,yes,mmmm, indeed.
The Metal Gear series is the only one to actually move my emotions while playing it. Hideo Kojima is a genius for coming up with such a story. MGS4 was purely amazing. The series could never be a movie yet its much more than a game. It’s an experience only defined by the player. I’ve played Resistance 2 and its very good. Killzone 2 kicks ass and LBP is loads of fun.
A movie could never possibly do the series justice, they would just fuck up the whole experience.
And thankfully, they canned it early this year.
What a great way to start off the year, knowing that your favorite series won’t turn into complete shit… at least until Rising potentially fucks everything up, which will lead Konami to force Kojima to work on Metal Gear games in the future, rather than new IPs like he promised everyone for the past 10 years since Metal Gear Solid 2.
Indeed it would. They’d probably hire Tom Cruise as snake and have Meryl a really hot girl with terrible acting. It’d also turn into some Anti-Military, liberal puke-fest.
I don’t think Rising will fuck it up. I think it will be pretty decent but wont be as great as MGS4.
Wait, isn’t that what the Metal Gear games already are? (minus the puke fest)
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Kojima isn’t a big fan of war, or nukes. His country suffered through two nuclear explosions.
The game might be good, but there’s a high chance that the story will blow. Ninja Raiden is a terrible character, which is sad because Raiden in MGS2 was great.
I wouldn’t consider it Anti-Military or liberal. If anything it’s not political at all. I’m not going to debate this with you and I’m very aware of Kojima’s opinion’s.
Um, not to start a INTERNET WAR, but I’m pretty sure, at least MGS1, had a pretty strong anti-NUKE sorta thing going on, and mabye even the anti-war stuff too. I just consider it a fantastic game though, it’s really up to the player to determine a game message, if any.
The game’s themes have always been about how the military is the tools of politicians. MGS4 even showed a nightmate scenario when war becomes the basis of the world economy (because we all need that oil ).
Metal Gear Solid 2 dealt with internet censorship and information control, both of which are very possible with government power.
Metal Gear Solid 3 dealt with how our enemies are only our enemies in relative terms, and change with the times (as the Boss puts it.) We were allies with Communist Russia in WWII, enemies after that, and now we’re cool with eachother. Ironically, we supported Saddam Hussein during the Cold War for the Iran-Iraq War. Hmmmm…
There is…
No need for an Internet war, you were just stating your opinion and nothing wrong with that. I think it stays away from politics and such like movies and games should.
Well it all depends on how one interprets it. I think we’ve moved away from the real topic here.
What? You’re saying a thread about sucking off Kojima’s solid snake is not as good as a pointless console vs console thread?
Also: The edit button. USE IT.
So you’re saying games can’t have deeper meanings to them?
I’m personally all for games being used as a form of expression, and I’m glad we have people like Hideo Kojima in the industry.
