Worst Mainstream Video Games

Entertaining for you != everybody else. I used to play Halo CE alot - why? My friends played it online so i played with them. It’s fun to play with someone, but when it comes down to it, there are more interesting games.

One of the things that puts me off from halo is that everything feels generic, the aliens feel like cartoons, and the Marines and their weaps are rip offs of the Colonial Marines from aliens. The only enemies i found to be interesting were the flood somewhat, but even they were overglorified zombies when it comes down to it.

Halo Custom Edition, now, THAT I must say i actually had fun with. It was cool to see all the new and unique maps being made for it, each like its own mod with new weapons and such. Sure a lot of them sucked, but there were a pretty good few.

Other then that, though, the mp feels like a slow Quake (partially due to taking so many bullets to kill, aside from large weaps and snipers) except with vehicles. The only thing i was really impressed with in CE was It’s warthog driving physics, which, IMO, are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a game - it was so fluid. The other Halo games, and other games in general, it just isn’t as fun to drive.

It was exaggerated, but still, great fun

Lost Planet 2, Kane and Lynch 2…I’m sure those come as no surprise.

Black Ops of course was a disappointment to many (not everyone)

Havn’t played mush of anythin new. Just old games. back when they made a worthwhile game (for the most part)

The one I have played recently was Medal of Honor. Was that 2010? I think so… anyways. It made no sense to me. Why use a damn quad on a night raid thats supposed to be stealthy!? It had alright graphics, but the guns and other sounds were kinda quiet to me. Just a bunch of things that people were so hyped about and now BOOM! So many sad people…

:expressionless: I like their other games though, such as allied assault and its expansions. They were fun. You can guess what I played after trying my hand at the newest Medal of honor

What was up with LP2? I didn’t play it, but I loved the first. Then I heard the second sucked. What was wrong with it?

Why does everyone on the internet seem to suck so bad at communicating? If you all would bother to phrase your opinions as opinions instead of facts you wouldn’t get into these pointless arguments.

EDIT: well I missed a page, now I look retarded.

Eh, Orpheon, what you say is still good advice.
–BC2 sucked balls
should be
–I hated BC2

Winged, I was of the general opinion both Lost Planet games were pretty bad. In the first one, your character is extremely sluggish in movement; being hit just a bit causes you to sprawl around for a while. You have an immense amount of HP thanks to the thermal gel system, and none of the weapons feel particularly powerful or unique. When I saw the second one got poor reviews, I figured not much changed.

itt: winged defends games he likes

i would have to say fallout 3 was nice, but it crashed about every 30 minutes

I personally liked the fact that every enemy had to be dealt with in a boss fashion (ATTACK HIS WEAK POINT…FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE). The story and characters weren’t too bad either.

Careful…

I could vote for Reach, but that’s too obvious, wasn’t even expecting it to be good.

Black Ops? Improved upon MW2 in both MP and SP, SP has a veteran difficulty that’s actually a bit challenging at times and didn’t take 4 hours to beat, it actually has an ending rather than MW2’s “Oh hey, this is only half the campaign, gotta buy MW3 for the other half.” MP has less retarded kill streak stacking, less kill streaks that effectively end the game when it’s barely 1/4 the way through. They actually noticed IWnet sucked and gave back Dedicated Servers in the same sense Bad Company 2 has Dedicated Servers which allowed for higher player count. Now that the game has some semblance of optimization I’m enjoying it.

I didn’t play 2033 enough to really have much of an opinion on it.

I’m going to have to vote for Mafia 2. Yeah it was kinda fun, but it was lacking so much. Shootouts were boring, story was short, the city seemed tiny and lack of variety.

We already know he has questionable tastes in… well… everything. Just ignore him.

Also, I have to agree with Mafia 2. Terrible characters, annoying gameplay, boring visuals, and worst of all tedious missions made it one of the worst games I’ve played in some time.

Just because I’ m putting this game on the list doesn’t mean I don’t like to play it now and then, but Aliens Vs Predator. Game had so much potential, but it did not live up to expectations.

dude fallout 3 was 2008, read the op everyone knows this thread is about the worst games of 2009

Black Ops here, Halo Reach wasnt a “OMFG BEST GAME EVAR!!!” but was fun to play. Otherwise Medal of honor wasnt good as it should have been… oh well.

lolwut.

anyway, my vote is for AVP3.

Wait, did that come out this year or last year?

Shit, I can’t remember.

If not, Vanquish. I hate the feel of the game. Everyone else seems to love it.

Scratch all of that. LP2. Pissed me off so much I forgot it existed.

O_o

My problem is the combat is entirely the same. The semi auto guns are far overpowered. The campaign felt no different from Halo 3, only it was old because I had already played Halo 1 2 and 3.

And no matter what game mode you play they don’t feel that different. And no, the Forge maps were shit. They were either ridiculously open snipe fests with too much aim assist, or open corridors around and arena. The forge maps are ridiculously simple and limited in shapes and sizes. And even some of the normal maps like launch and Zealot suck; they’re just bigass circles with an open area in the center. All the forge maps feel the same and the majority of the game modes feel the same. And the only guns worth using are the semi auto, which all feel the same.

The problem with Black Ops is 90% of it is CQB. Once again, little gameplay variation. The killstreaks except for the two chopper gunners are almost entirely useless. I got dogs and got about 5 kills. Gun Game and Sticks and Stones are nice, but the tomahawk is wayyyy overpowered in SAS. I’m better with the crossbow and ballistics knife than 80% of people playing, so I gain a massive lead very quickly, and then become a huge target and instantly get tomahawked. In the first 4/5s of an SAS match you’d do just as well if you hid in a corner and waited than if you ran around and killed everyone like I usually do. Black Ops may have fixed many surface issues like over-tubing, but they also ruined the addictive intense gameplay of MW2.

IMO, I hated the fuck out of Dragon Age: Origins.

Honestly, I do not get the appeal beyond the story, which was admittedly very good and immersive. Shitty AI and gameplay ruined it for me.

All classes except mage sucks, which when skilled heavily in primal magic become unstoppable ass-kickers. Total game-breaker. Gameplay sucks because I can’t let a fight go on for more than three seconds without having to manage every single fucking move everyone in my party other than me does. For fucks sake, if they meant for me to micromanage every god damn second why not market it as an RTS where that’s how the actual game is played, instead of putting the fucking thing in real-time only to have fights progress like a flip-book held by a tard with arthritis? Or why the hell couldn’t I give them three moves ahead of time like I could in the first two KOTORs? With this game, Bioware actually regresssed in it’s combat mechanics.

/rant. I hate this game. Sometimes I think the only reason people are all like “Dood, this game is awexome, ur jus gay brah!” is because the consoletards don’t know any better or just like the pretty visuals.

Fuck Dragon Age. I would probably hate it less if it didn’t come from Bioware, who I expect much better from.
