I used to “pretend” while I was playing wolf3d that I was playing stealthily.
In reality I was just running around stabbing guys

All the same, there’s no way in hell the guys that did the Riddick games and The Darkness would make something as shallow as a COD clone. Hell, the shooting in neither of those games were all that deep, yet they were still brilliant all around experiences. This Wolf iteration looks to be some of their best gunplay yet, with a narrative and characters that are as engrossing as all of their other projects.
TGP must not have played the pre-split Starbreeze games before.
Every bridge that looks even remotely like the one in HL2 reminds people of HL2.
Anything with a minor resemblance prompts people to shout “ripoff” these days.
bioshock has ironsights, and the recoil is still pretty hard to manage
ironsights arent automatically a noob friendly game mechanic
I wouldn’t say people associate ADS with being noob-friendly, but rather often times when a game has ADS it is typically indicative of the game itself being slower paced and more based around shooting from cover instead of being a run-and-gun high-octane twitch shooter.
Riddick/Darkness-esque rpg elements?
Sold.
…
I’m guessing taking a stroll on brooklyn bridge IRL would remind you of HL2 as well? Must be pretty boring being you.
Look at this video i found

The faggot-looking one doesn’t like the shooting. No surprises here.
I wanna punch that hipster soooooo bad…
remember the time “standards” meant a game wasnt horribally broken or was made unprofessionally?
most good games think out of the box these days
Yeah I mean, who the hell wants the health regeneration anyway? Like Halo or Call of Duty.
Halo’s kinda inconsistent here because the health system keeps changing.
And the first COD had health packs ironically.
I live in Bellevue, just a handful of miles away from Valve. I have been to places around here that look eerily similar to HL2.
Actually fall time here really reminds me of half life 2 as well. It’s funny because HL2 doesn’t really feel like familiar landscape when I play it.
Is this “half life 2 reminds me of x” conversation going to go somewhere? I’d kind of like to make a thread about it now.
Let’s make a new thread about it. Back to Wolfenstein stuff.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
