Wasn’t talking to you, talking to the people who think they already “know” windows 8 will fail based off a 30 minute video that they probably didn’t even watch.
Why would they make another windows? 7 has a long ubiquitous life ahead of it yet.
Because they need to sell products to make money.
People are going to get so so mad at Microsoft. If they thought Vista was too much a change, well they are in for a surprise. Really, this could kill Microsoft. They need to adapt the faster release cycle as a series of updates to gradually bring in new features instead of all at once.
if this becomes popular apple has officially murdered the GUI concept
I love reading a bunch of peoples opinions, about something they know nothing about. Its great. I cant believe your all speculating about something that is still in the design phase. But oh well. Gives the rest of us something funny to read.
A major point you’re forgetting is that the iphone has an arm processor, not an x86 one.
:hmph:
you didn’t get it, I wasn’t referring to myself.
this too, hence I mentioned that there is constant development and search for solutions in software and hardware, apart from battery department.
Not much you can do in battery department actually besides increasing the number of cells - it’s more or less set in stone.
ITT: people who haven’t read the really useful features coming to windows 8, and only focusing on the new start screen.
But yeah, fuck microsoft right? LOL XP FOREVR GUIZZ
you know what, you faggots should be restricted to MS DOS
Can I join in?
Windows 8 sucks :retard: .
To be honest, I’m not sure that it will suck, it’s definitely got some potential based on the small demo video they showed. I’m not too keen about the windows phone 7 aspects, but that’s just the start menu, so you can easily get back to your usual desktop.
Yeah, it’s called Windows 7.
I think most people judge something by their first impression. So when the Start screen is the most promoted feature by Microsoft, then thats gonna be the first impression.
Btw, im not hating on this, i do love the design, and this makes me want a tablet. But i hate how most companies focus mostly on touch now, when most people use keyboard+mouse nowadays. If im buying this, im probably buying it pre-installed on a tablet.
they’ll sell it to steve jobs. for ipads. 7 ipads.
Well I´m looking forward to it, the video is just the start screen as already mentioned, but some of the new features seem very interesting, for example, for drivers they want to load twice (or rather have 2 copies) so if a driver crashes, which in a lot if not most cases in previous windows means crash or blue screen, it will load the secondary copy in order to prevent this and let you know the driver has failed, for whatever reason, now this I REALLY LIKE, it can prevent a lot of loss of what you´re currently doing due to either a conflict or hardware dodgyness. There´s also fuss about a new way to improve on ram usage, this could, if true, potentially make windows faster (even though I find 7 pretty fast already) comparing itself to other already fast solutions like ubuntu or linux in general.
I’m glad that Microsoft always includes their old UI layouts in their new versions of Windows, because honestly, this won’t work well unless you’re running it on a laptop with a touch screen. It works great on my phone, but it’s tiny compared to a PC or laptop.
Do you seriously expect to continue using mouse and keyboard until you die?
Yes. Regardless of whether or not the rest of the world is.
