Windows 8

It looks just like Windows Phone 7. This would make it great for tablets and kiosks and such, but looks like it would be downright annoying to use on a laptop or desktop with a keyboard and mouse. I think I’ll be be sticking with Windows 7. Maybe Windows 8 will be the next Vista and then 9 will get it right.

Yeah. Calling it Windows 8 is downright insulting. It looks like shit to use on anything other than a tablet.

Tablets or large multi touch displays

This just in - you are all fucking retards.

That might have something to do with the fact that it is pretty much designed just for tablets. Its only code named windows 8, I don’t think they intend it for desktops or laptops or will they market it.

They say the whole it works on keyboard and mouse too is just because that’s a simple and duh feature to put in.

I’m going to stick with Windows 7 for a while.

What ODB said, while the starting interface is that, you can go to the normal one in just a click of a button. Not any more clicks than normal, I think. Because if it’s the start up screen, would it replace the current ‘Log in’ screen? At most, it may add one or two steps when starting up a computer.
As long as the interface is customisable enough for my liking, and it can still run everything I need it to, then I would be happy with it.

To be honest, the whole start screen looks like omnimo for rainmeter and after I tried rainmeter, the word “customization” gave me a whole new meaning. To shorten it, colorful square apps that you can move all around the screen is not one of them!

I kind of like icons, they give me space to work with and if you find the right ones, you can make your desktop or explorer shortcuts really fancy. Icons also organizes things while giving air between it, you don’t have to get all of todays information in your face at once.

Customization I also think is important about an operating system. The feeling of personalization and making things adaptable for you makes everything become so easy, like that you don’t have to spend five hours of googling to find out how to change your log in screen background.

To be honest, I think the OS won’t work with even a tablet PC. I mean, you log in and all around is colorful boxes telling you the weather, the news and everything without you even seeing the wallpaper behind it. Where did “Aero glass” go? So I’ll stick with Win 7, this is just not adaptable for me.

Omnimo was based off of MS’s Mosaic…

Then windows 8 looks like MS’s Mosaic :retard:

I didn’t even know you could do that.

makes the computer look likea bunch of banner ads for differnt mictrosoft departments i hate it

They’ll have to pry xp from my dead cold fingers.

At least till I get rid of this piece of shit PC. Then I’ll think about Win7.

Duh?

MS = Microsoft

@johnyo: You really should upgrade. I was one of the XP fans and I hated Vista with a passion. But I’ve never known aything as amazing as Windows 7. I have XP on my laptop and I curse its slowness every time I start it up. And its pretty powerful for an XP machine.

This.

My Win7 box starts up in less than 10 seconds (cold boot). From sleep, it’s like .01.

Win7 with a single core and 2 gigs of ram? I don’t think so. Besides, I can’t install Win7 because it won’t let me override the default HAL and since HT doesn’t seem to work on this mobo I’m stuck with XP. Not that I mind, ofc.

Windows 7 runs much smoother than XP on most lower-end machines.

Edit: How did I get ninja’d that much? hm.

It’ll run. You can disable aero.

Fuck, if you don’t like the awesome Win7 taskbar, you can even make it look like XP and use the “classic” windows taskbar.

If money is an issue… Well :pirate: .
