I’ll stick with Windows 7 because I really don’t care to upgrade.
like I said, bunch of imbeciles…
I knew this is just the start up screen, but it was my prior understanding that windows 8 was geared towards tablets anyways?
Geared?
It simply added a feature/support.
So making it faster doesn’t count anymore? Jeez, they didn’t even reveal a half of the features they are adding.
Heck, normally, I take a piss at windows and ms at the first opportunity.
Oh ok, I knew they’ve been looking at getting more competitive in tablets I thought they’d make something specifically for it.
I look forward to windows 8 there is always room for improvement.
You know insulting doesn’t help your point much.
You clearly don’t know ODB.
Well, everyone DID pretty much ignore his point. Personally I am glad for his contribution. I was hoping to find out that there would be a more traditional interface. It didn’t seem like they would completely drop the age-old desktop interface like that. ODB, do you have a source that sums up what they’ve said about the new features of 8?
Does anyone know that there will be an ARM version of Windows 8 preferably used for tablets or touch screen devices? That video has no information about the x86/64 version of Windows 8.
They didn’t say a whole load.
https://www.engadget.com/2011/06/01/live-from-microsofts-windows-8-preview-event-at-computex-2011/
Here they are obviously bragging about tiles, but also said that
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYSSdSNFjhU
The bulk of new features will be revealed in september at Build Conference (or whatever it’s called)
P.S. They also mentined various keyboard shortcuts, so you don’t have to have a tablet at all.
someone should hack the ipad 2 to run windows 8
Like fuck I’m gonna call my programmes “apps”.
guess what?
They’ve been called applications on windows since before you were born.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_software#Terminology
p.S. it’s great that they finally offload the video to GPU
p.s.s At the end of the vid, it’s obvious they are trying very hard to catch up with ipad.
App outsourcing, sensors etc
It’s really fucking funny, because when you tards were throwing shit at iPad a couple years ago, I simply told that Jobs was setting a trend there - like he always does. I was right as it turned out.
So instead of proving its something useful for desktops, you’ve proven it’s Windows7 with a tablet mode. Still pretty worthless for the average desktop user IMO.
how fucking inane can a person get
u mad?
Personally I think he’s right, don’t really see this being installed on many desktops.
also “an application is a computer program” - an application is a program. I would rather call them programs.
Seriously, ODB. Show me how this is useful at all to 98% of desktop users. You like to throw insults around but you never really prove anything.
I think ODB’s main point here is that the only main feature of Windows 8 that has been announced is the tablet mode…
Meaning that there are most likely a multitude of other improvements in the OS geared towards desktop users as well…
Meaning the OS upgrade can potentially be useful to all 98% of desktop users…
It’s not that hard to connect the dots
I’ll just stick with 7.
u mad is used as an affirmative clause. lrn2meme
wat
Honest to God, you gotta be pretty slow if you’re serious.
Maybe watch a video a couple more times and actually bother to read what’s being written.
But, hold on for a second, why do I need to prove anything to someone who isn’t capable of even making at least a half-assed point? All you acceleratuses ever bother doing is dishing out an arbitrary ‘Hurr durr no one’s gonna need it’.
I find it really amusing that 100% of the time, whenever a bunch of kids says that, it gets ultimtely proven wrong. Every. Single. Time.
If you actually bother to watch the video, you’ll see that he mentioned quite a bit of other new stuff (mostly to do with performance improvements), especially towards the end.
