What Game Did You Play Today?

Completed Persona 4 Golden. Guess I got a bad ending…

SPOILERS Nanako ended up dying and we shoved Namatame into the TV world to die. I suppose I should’ve maxed out Nanako’s social link for her to survive? SPOILERS

I watched a video of that game and it didn’t seems very scary. Stressful gameplay, maybe, but it’s really just a jump scare simulator.

The S-link has nothing to do with SPOILERS the decision to off Namatame. Nanako lives if you choose to talk Yosuke down. Namatame will then explain his motives for doing what he did, and you’ll have a chance to figure out who was pulling the strings. And even THEN, there’s more further down the rabbit hole…SPOILERS

He got alarmingly close to charging at me though.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl . I finally got into the X-16 (just got in, and quit after saving the progress). Great game, much better then what some people say about it.

What? When has anyone ever criticized that game?

I am reading a Russian game-developers forum ( https://www.gamedev.ru ), and in the flame section there were people who criticized it. Also, I read at Russian game portal ( https://www.ag.ru ) the review for the game, and it was not as positive as I expected (mostly due to the hype that the game “did not live up to” [I think it is even better the way it came out, speaking of realistic outcome]).

I’ve been playing the Smash Bros 3DS demo and it’s really fun. I’ve been trying out Mega Man in it and he’s becoming one of my favorite characters to play (my other 2 are Kirby and Samus).

Played some more League. Got owned. I’m just not good enough to play that game anymore, I think I might call it good pretty soon. It’s just not fun, especially when you’re dealing with your passive aggressive teammates who judge you for every mistake you make.

Know that feel, man. I only started a couple months back, so I’m still getting my feet wet. It’s important to play with people you know and can talk to over voice, because randoms are a clusterfuck.

finished Divinity original sin. quite enjoyed it except that the AI seemed to do everything in its power to lose. at first I thought it was just poor AI, but no, This AI was relatively competent and definitely wanted me to win, always going after the summoned/charmed creature first, spreading out attacks equally amongst my 3 peeps, never going for the finishing blow…

but whatever, it was pretty fun, I screwed up my characters pretty bad at first, but once I figured out what I was doing I salvaged a pretty formidable crew. had some rewarding moments: first after I after I finally bought a bunch of spell books, and later after I chose Glass Cannon. Game changing moments where everything went from super hard to super easy (for a while)

Been playing since 2011. I used to just spam normal solo games (blind before draft existed, then draft so I can get rid of stupid shit that’s overbuffed).

Probably since the start of Season 3, Ive only played with friends. Even in normal games you get hardcore ragers and people acting like it’s ranked. It’s absolutely insane.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

This is the first game I’ve played in a while that’s made me genuinely scared. That first bloodsucker startled the crap out of me.

[COLOR=‘Red’]POSSIBLE SPOILERS ON FARCRY3

Far Cry 3

I’ve never played a Far Cry game before, I kinda picked this up on a whim. So far, I have mixed feelings.

The gameplay is pretty good, with nice gunplay, movement, and variety. The wing suits pretty cool, and I enjoy the diversity of the land with all the wild animals, jungles, beaches, and the enemy outposts and such. I enjoy the abiliies the TauTau gives you, though I found many aren’t all that useful usually.

On the other hand, your characters voice actor sounds like a complete pussy, at least in comparison to what you’re doing in this game. The way you begin off, basically pissing yourself, only to become an ultimate badass within a few hours doesn’t sit right with me. Not to mention, your character becomes a douche bag for no good reason. I just don’t like the character you play as period.

I give it an 7.5/10

Blood Dragon was way better.

I’ve never actually played base Far Cry 3, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have laser or dragons in it, so…

The Operative: No One Lives Forever

I swear this fucking game makes the biggest budget most well received AAA games look like a monotonous copy pasted travesty.

It has 40+ missions (feels longer than Half-Life), and every single one of these missions has goals that differ from the last so you never really do the same thing.

On top of that, every single level of this game has its own texture set, textures are only really ever reused if its the same type of building (like a warehouse) which I’ve only seen like 2 or 3 times. You go to aztec ruins around swamps, space stations, the swiss alps, space, forests, underground bases, morocco, sunken underwater ships (with their own gameplay mechanics that don’t suck, and even face off against sharks using harpoon guns), nightclubs, fall out of a plane, and more.

The production values are really high for it too, and the attention to detail is astounding. There are so many humorous or informative conversations you can overhear as you sneak around that really rewards you for opting to do so instead of running and gunning, and the game has several vehicle sections on motorcycles and snowmobiles that are comparable to HL2, albeit more interesting.

It just blows my mind how they accomplished so much in 2000, and did it so well. The cartoony style of the games graphics just helps it to hold up more today than other games do.

I said come in, don’t stand there!

That guy. Yeesh.

You look like you need a monkey!

And,

Did you hear what happened to Dieter?

More STALKER.

Just got into lab X18. I haven’t been this scared in a video game for a long time. I have a SEVA suit, a good AR with about 700 rounds of ammo, a grenade launcher, and none of it is the least bit comforting.
