What Game Did You Play Today?

I couldn’t get into CoP either. Just didn’t feel like STALKER for some reason. Even after fixing the awful head bobbing and getting over the weird bullet-casing sprites, it just wasn’t that interesting to me.

I’m only ten minutes in. Ten minutes? That’s hardly anything at all. That really isn’t enough time to figure out if a game is good or not. I just can’t seem to get myself to play it after that first event. I always save there, and then find something else to do.

Speaking of which, maybe I will finish up GTA: IV? Maybe not. Will figure it out tomorrow.

CoP was hard for me to start as well, getting dropped off in the game world it feels too “nice” compared to SoC, and it takes some actual exploring for the game to pick up

(nice in contrast to SoC, not to say the game world is nice by any means)

Traversing some of the open areas in CoP in the middle of the night however feels like a different game almost

Finally managed to get my hands on Death to Spies. Only played through the tutorial but it’s pretty cool so far. Takes Hitman’s ideas and expands on them. Just wish I could bind things to my extra mouse buttons.

Started up Human Revolution: The Director’s Cut. Trying to decide if the commentary is worth it. At the beginning at least the commentary seems really longwinded and can get cut off abruptly if you try to, you know, actually play the game while listening to it. But it is somewhat interesting at least. Other than that, haven’t noticed a huge difference from the base game yet. I think the character models might be improved a bit, they seem a little more detailed than the originals. NG+ doesn’t seem to pick up saves from your old game which is a bummer. Might try fiddling around with the save files to see if I can get it to work. All in all a good $5 excuse to play HR again, if nothing else.

I got Pokémon Y, and its so freaking amazing

Got me a Radeon HD7870 and I’m finally able to max out all these great looking games I have at smooth framerates. It’s a whole new reality, man.

Hmm, I could finally install Gears Of War, after owning it for four years without even trying to.

Supposedly the boss fights have been totally redone.

Yeah I hear they’re actually good now. I was hoping to just drop my saves from vanilla HR into the Director’s Cut folder so I could skip around and see some of them, and interestingly enough, while it didn’t work (sadface), it did recognize info about the saves, like where the save was made and such.

So I just finished KOTOR, and I’m thinking about getting the sequel. Well, I’m pretty sure I’m going to actually, since enough people seem to think it’s good despite its flaws. What I’m really wondering, like I do for a lot of old games, is if I should play vanilla or mod it. Given that I’ll might only play it once, does anyone have any thoughts about mods? I know there’s a restoration mod out there that’s supposed to fix a lot of bugs and add the missing content back into the game, and given that’s a major gripe among even the fans of the game, I’m thinking I should at least drop that one in. Are there any other essential mods for it, or should that do it?

I started the director’s cut last night. Saved just before getting on Sarrif’s V-tol and went to bed.

Rocksmith 2014.

It’s superb and I can’t believe how shitty the first one was compared to this. No latency issues, the difficulty progression makes sense, they actually have iconic guitar songs this time around (instead of just a bunch of big names with barely any significant guitar in them). Barely any loading times at all.

Really well done and I can see total newcomers to real guitars actually learning the instrument through this (it’s more of a tool instead of a real game, although the multiplayer stuff and the arcade games are really fun as well).

I recommend this!

Mark of the Ninja (finished it) then a bit of Trine 2. Enjoying/enjoyed both a lot. Really fun games.

Should continue playing Dead Space 2 but unsure which 1 other weapon I want to use besides the plasma cutter.

I played Blue Shift again, yaaay

DX: HR - DC

I am now infiltrating the police station and hacking every lock and computer that I can get away with. You would be surprised how many augments you can get when you hack everything around you. I am noticing some new item placements as well, like a silenced sniper rifle on the rooftop in the first level (after the prologue). There is also a device that hacks whatever locked device you throw it at. Fuck that, I want my XP for hacking it! I sell all those motherfuckers to the weapons dealers.

Sounds like they’ve done a decent job of implementing the Tactical Enhancement Pack and Explosive Mission Pack DLC content in the Director’s Cut. In the original version of the game I think all that stuff (except the grenade launcher?) just appears in your inventory at the start of the first mission…

^ Yup. All that shit takes up a lot of room.

Tribes 2 online.

Jesus fucking christ I suck at this game badly. I only managed to grab the flag 2 times, and both times I got killed not 5 feet away from the flag post.

Tomb Raider
So many QTEs… fucking aweful.

CSGO
one of these days when I hit nothing but I always get killed by headshots… sometimes the game hates me, I tell you!

Sleeping Dogs
I’m pretty much at the beginning. Found my first gun, crashed and died, gun lost again… killed the game.

Some of the best combinations:

Chain lightning, diffraction torus + tesla core
Chain gun, telemetry spike + diffraction torus
Seeker rifle, military engine + precision tip
Rivet gun, telemetry spike on a compact frame, works great with elecrocution module.
