Finished all of the romance arcs in Katawa Shojo with good endings. I think Rin and Emi’s are my favorites. Emi’s was well structured and true to life, and Rin’s was… nothing short of an emotional roller coaster of confusion and stress.
Colonial Marines. Single Player campaign seems pretty shit so far but multiplayer is pretty damn fun.
The MP is pretty reminiscent of why I liked AvP 1/2’s MP so much and why AvP 3 completely missed the mark in that regard. It’s a shame the SP seems pretty badly done though.
I was wondering whether reinstalling System Shock 2 for another run. I loved that game, but it was one of the few that really, really scared the shit out of me. :fffuuu:
Whoever hasn’t played Antichamber should immediately play Antichamber.
Bought a copy of Smash Brothers today after being reminded how much fun it was. While I was at the store, I saw Xenoblade Chronicles and Skyward Sword and realized I wanted to play them but never got around it. Anyone played them? Were they good?
So why is the campaign bad? I mean I don’t care about graphics, but is it just repetitive gameplay, or…?
Basically, is it worth the money if you can’t play MP?
Tried to make Far Cry 3 work properly, got pissed off and played more Borderlands 2.
From what I’ve heard and seen the major problems come from shitty collision models, shitty AI, and shitty pacing.
The graphics maxed out on the PC actually aren’t that bad. The world textures are low res, but they’re not representing surfaces that are all that inherently detailed anyway. The weapons, characters, and xenos all look pretty fucking great imo. I’d go as far as to say they’re the best VG representations Aliens stuff ever.
Still mad about those fucking digitigrade Xenomorphs though.
I’m still getting it for MP though. It really looks worth it for a sale. Plus I’m interested in how they handle the story. I know it’s sub par, but I just want to know where they went with it.
Yeah, I will actually say once you get past the first 3 missions to Hadley’s Hope the game gets a lot more interesting, and the AI actually starts working properly and it makes the game a lot more fun and tense.
I think a lot of the disappointment comes from the first 2 missions and the wonky AI, the first one starts off well but then once you get to the second one the game takes a turn into generic shootertown - but if you play it in coop the AI seems to work better from the start, and the gore effects are nice enough that shooting the humans is actually pretty fun (but it drags on).
So far from what I’ve played, factoring multiplayer in and bugs, I’d probably guess from playing it that it got around a 6 score without patches, definitely did not see those horrible scores coming.
Multiplayer is a fucking blast though.
Both are great games.
Xenoblade is fantastic. The best game you’ll ever play on the Wii.
I’ve been giving Crysis 2 another shot. It’s mindlessly fun, although I detest the hand-holding “tactical assessment” that the visor gives you. It’s pretty, too. And, at full settings, it’s actually managing to slow my machine down a bit. My machine!
How did they get away with that fucking voice acting?
Fallout New Vegas
Has anyone played Fallout Tactics?
I plan on playing but I don’t know if it’s actually any good as Fallout 1/2
^ I was wondering the same, I wanted to play that game.
I just bought FTL and it’s incredibly fun. I’ve played three games so far and the farthest I’ve gotten was the third area.
Played Alien Swarm with some other guys from these forums. It was pretty fun.
Okay, System Shock 2 is fucking awesome. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games I can’t put down until I beat it.
^ Better late than never! Good luck from Hydrophonics onwards
Played “Batman: Arkham City”. Not a fan of superhero franchises, but I still liked the Batman movies, and this game is freakin’ addictive. Very, very well executed. Detailed, coherent, mechanically flawless, and a lot damn fun.
^ I personally liked Arkham Asylum more, myself. Felt more story driven. Arkham City just felt like a rogues gallery of random Batman villains. Still need to finish it.
Crysis 2 hasn’t got bad voice acting at all, actually. Barclay’s a bit overwrought, but aside from that, it’s generally pretty good.
I was trying out Far Cry 2 just now, on the other hand…
“Theycan’tkillmewhattheydon’tunderstandisthatNOONEkillsmeImaketherulesherejkliofpdhiorephigor;walkjd;lfkjhopiufrg;aio…”
I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt, but then I got on a mounted turret no more than five minutes into the game and couldn’t get off it no matter what I tried. So yeah, that’s enough of that turd.
