What Game Did You Play Today?

I think that’s sort of intentional in order to give the appearance of a cold, dreary landscape. However it can easily be changed to be more vibrant. Did you get Skyrim on Steam? If so, you can go on the Workshop and get Immersive Saturation Boost OR Immersive Contrast Boost to help get rid of that “washed-out look”. They aren’t compatible though so you’ll have to choose one. If you don’t have steam I think you should be able to still find mods on planetelderscrolls.com and tesnexus.com.

That’s one of the best parts of TES games: they have a great modding community, so if there’s something about the game you don’t like, there’s almost guaranteed to be a mod for it. Fixes, changes, improvements, additional content…all sorts of stuff. I usually just browse sorted by highest rating and install whatever looks cool, or if I want something specific I just put in the shortest description of what I want into the search, and I usually find something.

As for the ground flickering…that doesn’t sound right. Sounds like there’s either a problem with your installation or your hardware.

Well more specifically, it’s the grass on the ground. Not the kind that sticks up, the texture itself flickers, even though it’s got a rock texture under it half the time? I dunno, it doesn’t bother my much.

And yeah, I guess I’m just not really a fan of muted colors in games. At least, not all the time. I think in anything it could be good if you do it at the right place and time, but always? Hell no, that looks really, really bland. Maybe it’s just because trying to have a realistic artstyle and colors just reminds me of things I’d rather not remember. I’m not even actively trying to relate it at this point, it’s just how I am. It’s dumb, but it’s not harmful and I’ve got no way to stop it, it’s just two things inexorably linked in my head.

I got Shovel Knight for christmas, so I’m trying that out. I’ve beaten spectre knight and king knight. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet.

Lords Of The Fallen

Crashed twice in less than two hours (2nd time apparently either due to or caused a display driver crash). :frowning:
Aside from that it runs pretty well, looks good.
Gameplay might take a bit of adjusting to after playing Dark Souls. Mouse and keyboard are working pretty well so far, which is nice.

The DRM on it is apparently to blame for the crashing. The way it works is it’s constantly encrypting and decrypting game files while you’re playing. Not only does this cause a shitload of HDD/SSD reads and writes (it’s been blamed for killing SSDs) but it makes the game unstable and if it misses an encryption or decryption it runs the risk of crashing.

More Wind Waker HD, Smash Bros Wii U, and Super Mario 3D World.

Denuvo states that their system doesn’t write to the HDD/SSD, and therefore shouldn’t affect SSD lifespan.

I have heard that there is a 1 - 5% performance hit from using the system (I’d link a source but the Twitch video in which the Lords of the Fallen developers apparently said this has been removed).

Not sure about effects on stability.

Age Of Mythology: Extended Edition
First time I played AoM was when my oldest sister(9 years older) got her first boyfriend whom introduced piracy to me. This was before we had an internet connection, so pre-2006. I would guess 2003-2004 when I was in the 3-4th grade, because I understood enough english to get by but not to understand the story(or sometimes, the objectives).

I later replayed it in 2010 when I found it in an online store. Got two copies delivered for some reason, they didn’t want the extra copy of it back though since the shipping cost for them to get it back was more then the price of the game.
This time I understood the story.

Now when I’m replaying it again in the extended edition I notice obvious jokes, sarcasm and irony that I haven’t noticed before. They where surely not as serious when they developed this game as with AoE.

I’ve tried to compare the graphics by pictures I have in my head, but obviously that’s a bad idea.
However, I do notice the change of water texture, mainly because they’ve at least added the seabed to the greece map types sea. But since they’ve added the seabed to the water texture, you sometimes have to use the minimap to locate fish since they now swim beneath the seabed…
Did they even test that one out before adding it?

I arrived in Brazil a few weeks back. From the place I stay I can see the favela crawling up the hill of the serra do curral. It’s blazing hot and usually during the early morning hours or after nightfall over the roofs of the favela some ear-piercing firework gives the signal of the arrival or the dispatch of some drug packages.
It always makes me play Max Payne 3 again.

More Skyrim, Hyrule Warriors, and now Tomodachi Life. I’m also thinking about buying Mario Kart 8.

S ranked the assassination mission in Ground Zeroes on normal difficulty.

More Wind Waker HD and Super Mario 3D World.

Played A story about my Uncle. Such a beautiful and mellow game. Really loving it.

I had my first fight with Mega Satan in Isaac: Rebirth. I was playing permanent Whore of Babylon with Eve: one heart container, and then full up on soul hearts/black hearts, with the Relic occasionally spitting out new soul hearts, and Guppy’s Paw to keep me in Whore of Babylon whenever I got a Health Up.

…then I got hit with Curse of the Unknown in the fucking Dark Room.

At this point, I’m ready to recant my previous statements about this game not being as good as the original, too. This game fucking rocks.

That LSD remake thing. It’s in early development, but it looks really promising.

More Smash Bros for Wii U and Wind Waker HD. Getting close to finishing the latter.

More Borderlands Legends. It’s sort of growing on me, but the boss fights can go fuck themselves. Also Brick needs to get his shit together 'cause he’s like four levels below everyone else.

Lords of the Fallen
Beat the 2nd boss, found some nice gear.
Disabled the Nvidia physics effects after my last post, game seems stable now - no crashes since then (2 - 3 hours of gameplay).

HL: Opposing Force, A story about my uncle (again, just amazing game) and TWD. Replaying Season 1 and then the DLC since I just got season 2.

Halo: MCC

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
