What Game Did You Play Today?

I finally finished AC4 and my eyes actually started tearing up when Anne started singing. That entite scene hit me like a truck.

And that’s the first time a game actualky managed to touch me in such a way.

I’m not sure, actually. My framerate was mostly a solid 60+, but it would frequently drop like a rock for no real reason. Sometimes it dropped when there was a lot on screen, but other times during cutscenes or for no real reason at all.

It also kept crashing on me.

Clear Sky in the Bloodsucker village. Was killing some of them when I stopped to reload all my weapons and one just popped out of nowhere and scared the shit out of me.

Max Payne 2 - The Fall of Max Payne.

Tomb Raider (2013)

Not bad

Had an annoying glitch occur when I went through the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, thankfully the fix was pretty simple (reload checkpoint, proceed without redoing the last bit of the puzzle)

What part are you up to? I stopped playing ages ago but I had just gotten up to the bit where she kills the guy and gets the gun. I’m told it’s meant to pick up there.
Edit: Took me damn forever to find a post with that colour since there are no spoiler tags, yeesh.

As for me, played a bunch of games. Trying to figure out what I like using a 360 controller with. Lots of third person games (well, Alan Wake and Dead Space) feel more smooth and easy in terms of controls, but made shooting harder. Alice: Madness Returns plays fantastically on controller and on K+M so I’m not fussy there. Trying to play Metro with it ruined me, oh lord.
Not having a console since the PS1 has made me only useful with computer controls ;_;.

A fair bit ahead of that now, I’m up to the WW2 era Japanese communications bunker (“Mountain Base”), just got the SMG.

I thought it picked up a bit around that area (or maybe the one shortly after that) as well, the slightly more open areas seem a bit more interesting than the completely linear ones.

Hopefully there are more / more difficult puzzles later on…

Got to the warehouses in Lost Alpha. Currently driving the jeep someone above mentioned and it definitely is a lot more stable to drive. Bought 3 gas tanks from the bartender so I don’t run out of gas and have been going off road a lot because there’s so much stuff in the way of the roads.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. On my way to deliver to some barman some military documents.

Been trying to fix my SNES, I’ve got it mostly working but I’m having graphical glitches in some places. Hopefully I can iron them out, they’re rendering some parts of my games unplayable.

Minecraft.

Man, this game has the most relaxing music ever.

Today (beginning at night, with a break until morning) - “Lost Planet: Extreme Condition”.
EDIT: I originally began playing this game some time at winter.

Finished the fourth dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.

I also just started playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the ZSNES emulator. I really like it so far. I have currently configured it to play on my Gamecube controller just like it is played on the Wii’s Virtual Console. I even made a video of it (this video was recorded when I had it configured to the keyboard).

Bad Company 2, in which I managed to kill someone at the exact same instant he killed me.

(i posted this yesterday but it didn’t work what the fuck)

Tomb Raider

~53% complete according to the menu. Gameplay improves as you progress, areas open up a bit and more options become available in combat (weapons and moves). Still hoping for more complex puzzles later.

TressFX doesn’t seem to affect performance too badly during gameplay (~10 - 20% hit on my system, depends on the scene), but some parts of some cutscenes drop the framerate all the way down to 25 - 30fps. Haven’t had any crashes, thankfully (even when running the game at 5760x3240 + 4xSSAA for screenshots :stuck_out_tongue: ).

EDIT: argh

I had the same issue. Random lag during cutscenes, and a few other areas, even when there’s nothing especially intense on screen.

I’ve been playing a lot of Skyrim lately. Fun as it is, I keep having random CTDs all the fucking time. I can only assume it’s related to the game’s memory issues, so I’ve begun progressively uninstalling graphics mods… The issue is that the CTDs I’ve been seeing are just scarce enough that it’s hard to be sure if they’re gone or not.

Been a huge geek with my friend for the past few days playing that fantasy MMORPG Aion we found xD it’s quite fun. Her and I have been having a blast playing it, it’s similar to WoW but free (which is better imo).

Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Trying to beat “death by committee”. This is the first time I’ve ever repeatedly failed a mission, but still have fun every time I try it over again.

Get a teleporter and use it take out the flagship’s missiles ASAP. It makes a huge difference.

Tried playing Crysis 2 again. Object quality and shader quality are the most intensive settings. Lowering those from ultra to extreme makes the game pretty much 60 fps constantly. Still not as fun as Crysis 1 and Warhead though.
