What Game Did You Play Today?

Ah. Yeah, I wasn’t sure if GFWL was giving me issues or my internet was just shutting down.

Didn’t they shut down GFWL a while ago? Or does that only affect the multiplayer component?

I also played through all of Dear Esther.

I’m a bit surprised, but I actually got quite interested in the story. I spent about half an hour last night reading through script notes and posts about it, and I’m fairly certain I actually understand most of the story now.

I use a 360 controller, I don’t like trying to play sidescrollers (or fighting games, or racing games) on KBM either.

Yesterday I finished for the 4th time “Crysis 2”, once again on the easiest difficulty (I find no joy in playing any game so far on any harder difficulties, probably because I am a lousy player). Also, today I continued playing in “Crysis 3”, totally amazing game. Back in the early 2000’s I remember a little how I played “Medal of Honor” game, and how amazing it was. “Crysis 3” with respect to time surpasses that gaming experience for me.

I’m surprised Crytek didn’t lay you off during their little financial problems a couple of weeks ago.

Finished the fifth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (excluding Hero’s Cave). Really enjoying it so far.

Had to redo the Agroprom assault in Lost Alpha for some reason. My save got deleted or something. Oh well I got a kick-ass artifact from it, -15 radiation at the cost of -10 endurance while I also have an artifact that gives some amount of endurance. It may offset that -10 loss.

Also it appears that some graphics options won’t change without restarting the game, which the game doesn’t tell you, including the shadow quality option which was causing my framerate issues it seems. Maxing that setting out is way too much for my GPU a lot of the time but I didn’t notice a performance boost while changing it because it requires you to restart the game.

Finished that yesterday. If you meant where you have to infiltrate the building, not the initial skirmish/fight before the underground.

I swear it felt like stealth wasn’t even an option. Silenced pistol on the 1 guy around? Everyone still alerted. Probably going to install a mod that adds in a “travel NPC”, that was in Clear sky and CoP (that I hear, since I havent played them). I get running and managing weight is an integral part of the game and all, but I’m already kind of sick of it.

Edit: ARGH. I went back to an old stash location in Garbage for a stash co-ordianates I had. They were said to be in a green container, but the only one I could find at that location was on top of a tall building. So I shoot it down and think “oo yay”…aaaaand nothing. It’s not a stash or my 3 minutes of trying to find the “press F” prompt were failing me. Frustrating as hell.

Replaying Oracle of Seasons and Ages after ten years, finally 100%ing them and getting the true ending, because as a kid I sold one game to get the other and couldn’t do it…

Warpath - PC.

Managed to get my car to survive past the road to where you get jobs from Sin. Having some fun with it, but the cars (at least this one) is so unstable when moving. Turning if you’re going more than a few miles per hour puts in you danger of flipping over. Fun running down enemies though.

For a minute, I forgot I was in this thread and was rather concerned about your vehicle x’D

Anyways, played some DoD Source today. I walked into a room, shot one guy, 3 more guys came in, I got another, got shot in the arm and dropped my machine gun but ran over my friends sniper rifle in the processes, which I promptly blind hip fired (since there is no reticle for sniper rifles) and scored a no scope double headshot on the remaining two all while never getting killed myself :o I then made the winning capture, killing two more guys in the process and ending with a score of 50 kills and 26 deaths, which is great for me xD since you die so easily in that game.

Yeah, that car is absolute shit. Apparently the devs changed it in the latest patch so that cars you find are way more ‘tip-able’ than ones you can buy.

On that same map, near the entrance there is a jeep looking car. I’ve found that one a hell of a lot more stable.

Tomb Raider 2013.

I didn’t play for long, since it kept crashing on me, but I’m kinda disappointed with it so far. The game is far too linear, and the exploration aspect suffers because of it. Worse, the (admittedly very pretty) set-pieces and environments are much, much less compelling when they’re color-corrected into a monochrome blur.

TressFX is fantastic, though.

Just finished The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and just started playing Oracle of Ages. It took me a little while to get the two games linked due to confusion in putting the code in.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha.

Been trying to get back into Tribes: Ascend, a game I really liked, unfortunately 1. there’s not many people playing anymore which is probably partly because 2. the servers have somehow all become so crappy recently that they crash almost after every map, and if they don’t crash it still takes a few minutes for the next map to load. Sucks.

It’s because the devs dropped support and moved on to making a different game, and there’s no tools either.

Dangit. I mean if they’re done with the game, how hard could it be to remove the login requirement and allow custom servers and mods? At least something so that fans could keep the game going reasonably well. Here’s hoping Global Agenda 2 does better, but the original kinda seemed to suffer the same fate as Tribes, at least as far as lack of players goes. Updates and new content were few and far between too. Shame because I really liked that game too. It’s like Hi-Rez knows how to start a game well but can’t keep it going very long.

Also, I finished Shovel Knight. It’s a really fun game, although some parts were unusually hard compared to the rest of the game. I’m starting up an NG+ and going achievement hunting. Although some of these achievements look near-impossible for me to pull off…

EDIT: I feel like a moron. Somehow I didn’t realize you don’t have to attack first before you can do a drop shovel…all you have to do is hold down while you’re in the air. No wonder I was having so much trouble in some parts -_-

It sure as hell is, but it also sure as hell does a number on your framerate, doesn’t it? I was sad when I had to turn it off. For me it was either a boss framerate and no pretty hair, or a shitty framerate and gorgeous hair.
