I bought Hard Reset last summer sale, with the DLC. I’ve played through it once, but I never bothered with the DLC because I found the game really boring. Too much ‘unload godly amount of ammunition at single targets’.
Beat MGS1 today. The endless stairway, elevator ambushes, and the final chase with Liquid were all pretty bullshit. Fighting Metal Gear Rex was kind of hard too, more so than I remember it being. Now to wait until the legacy collection comes out.
Yeah it is rather well hidden…perhaps he was thinking if you were really that attached to Curly you would look for a way to save her? Kinda flies in the face of all the video game logic I’d ever learned though.
Mass Effect: Your choices and your preparedness determines if characters live or die.
Human Revolution: Just be good and be fast.
Chrono Trigger: They’re not truly dead, they’ll come back later.
Most other games: You can’t change anything.
Like I said. I never would have guessed half the shit you need to do.
i got stuck on i think the last boss of cave story and never got round to finishing it lol
I never beat that fight either.
Well, I did beat it, but there are two more bosses right after without so much as a save point.
Also in Mass Effect:
Saving random characters in the third game depending on completion of an assignment which is acquired only if you take the time to explore the ENTIRE Citadel in the first game. Honestly, I was like “Wait, who? Oh, that - really? No way! Cool!”
An ass ton of BF3 while waiting for the BF4 beta.
Kerbal Space Program.
There are a few ways to make those final fights easier, but the main thing is to beat Misery without losing too much health so you have enough for the doctor. You have to learn their moves and know how to dodge them. Once you get to the undead core it’s basically a breeze, since you can get recovery items in there and the bosses’ attacks are much easier to avoid.
That said, even I gave up on the bonus hell level. I was satisfied with winning the main game lol
Haha, yeah, the seven bosses in a row had me reaallly raging the first time I played. I did beat it, though. Eventually.
I played a bunch of Source mods this weekend (and a couple GoldSource mods). Every once and a while I like to play catch-up on PlanetPhillip and just download every map and mod he’s posted since the last time I visited.
I also started a new game in Black Mesa, because I only ever played it the one time back when it came out and now I feel like appreciating it again.
Played some Neverwinter beta today. Its pretty cool so far
Kerbal Space Program again.
I landed on Duna. It was really close; I actually ran out of fuel while I was reentering the atmosphere. I think I’ve just about mastered aerobraking, and I also inadvertently performed a maneuver with Duna’s moon that was either a gravitational slingshot or a form of braking… I’m not sure which.
The only flaw was that I missed the initial insertion and spent about 2-3 years of in-game time trying to close the last 2 million km or so. Also, the nuclear engines sheared off when the parachutes opened.
Playing The Last of Us. This game starts great and just keeps getting better and better.
You really feel an adrenaline rush while clearing out an enemy outpost and then physical relief when you finish the last guy, finally giving you time to explore the place.
Then there’s the damn Clickers. You’ll love to hate them.
If you have a PS3, please, get this game, seriously, it’s a goddamn masterpiece of survival action.
^I want it, but I’d need a PS3. Which I plan on getting sometime. My friend won’t shut up about how fantastic it’s been so far for him.
Dota 2. Hours of it.
I found a copy of Croc 2 for PC that I got forever ago and figured I’d try it as I’m trying out different platformers. In the readme it said the highest resolution they recommend is 800x600 (game came out in 1999) which I thought was funny. Booted it up and went to choose the resolution and to my surprise the game allowed me to choose 1920x1200 in the menu (with little if any stretching and no black bars) and it also recognized my 360 controller. It is locked at 30 fps but I still find the two things above pretty amazing for such an old game.
Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker I love this game like my own child I’ll never have.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Loving it more than the actual Far Cry 3
Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 and Source 2 spotted on a valve mailing list.
