What Game Did You Play Today?

The only weapon I had that was effective against this boss was a pulse rifle, and I couldn’t gather any more because this was a backtracking section and I had previously cleared out the boss arena.

Dead Space loves reusing level design.

Hmmm. Backtracking. Still not a problem. You should drop all your medkits but 3-4, but make sure they’re all large, and fill the rest of inventory with ammunition. Stasis packs if you wish.

This is (was) my first run through. I had every last scrap of ammo I could find or craft, and still ran out repeatedly during an extended boss fight.

I was sure there was nothing behind me

This fucking game

Good ol’ mindless fun with Painkiller.

STALKER games have really good ragdolls

Usually I favor death animations, but I could live with purely ragdoll if other games had ragdolls that acted like this.

Fixed.

I wish every game would go with procedural animation like what Euphoria does. It’s the best of death animations and ragdolls pushed together.

Yeah Euphoria is definitely the best, I was just surprised at how good those ragdolls looked, like how they could fall to their knees and slump over, or if they get pushed into a wall the ragdoll slowly slides down, etc. Looks pretty nice compared to most games where they just collapse into themselves.

Oh my God, we need to get a bunch of BM people together to play the free weekend of ORION: Dino Horde. This game rips off so much shit from so many games and movies it’s not even funny.

Saints Row 4 is amazing.

It feels much tighter and better structured than SR3 and the main story is a lot more interesting.

I got a copy of the original Fallout, and on my first game, my first encounter outside of Vault 13 was a large group of frakking radscorpions

War Thunder.

I should have upgraded my GPU years ago.

Stalker build 1935.

If Lost Alpha is anything like this but as a functional game it will be fucking amazing.

On that note, Crysis 2 is amazing.

One nice little touch I like is how the cutscenes actually use the suit; Alcatraz activates armor mode when he gets caught in a collapse, uses the visor to zoom in, etc.

What happened to the destructible environments, though? In Crysis 1 you could go into strength mode and tear down buildings with your fists.

Hardware.

Crysis 2 was their foray into console development so it became more about getting it to look the best it could on consoles rather than packing in the extra gameplay features.

They funny thing about that is that both Crysis 2 and 3 run at lower than low settings and run at an average 20 fps. I haven’t really enjoyed much of what I’ve played of Crysis 2. Doesn’t help that either DX11 features aren’t working for me or the game just doesn’t look as good as I was expecting.

Finished Amnesia again. Can’t wait for the sequel on the 10th. About to start the final mission of a campaign that I’ve been playing in the Dark Mod.

^ I’m actually getting about 25-35ish FPS on high settings. At least I think it’s high; there’s no option for low or medium.

Just tried out Papers, please.

I never would’ve thought that paperwork could ever be this intense
