What Game Did You Play Today?

^ Keep that rig. Sounds like a perfect legacy gaming machine. Imagine Rainbow Six and NOLF running without having to be patched specifically for Vista. Color yourself lucky, I wish I’d found something like that.

The new X-COM is basically my GOTY for 2012. It’s so incredibly awesome its… superlative-defyingly amazing!

Also, I got Sonic Generations today. THEY FINALLY DID A 3D SONIC RIGHT. Took you fucking long enough, Sonic Team.

HOLY SHIT THE FUCKING GUN TRUCK IN CITY ESCAPE IS HOMICIDAL!!!

Hitman:Absolution …the game is mostly good but bizarre level design and how they implemented checkpoints is really pissing me off!

MegaMan X8 for PS2. Much better than X7, though there are still some annoying levels. At least they tried something different for every level. Gotta give them that much credit.

I’m also building an adventure map from scratch in survival mode within Minecraft. It’s actually a recreation of E1M1 from Wolfenstein 3D. The YouTube videos I saw of the few who actually posted didn’t really satisfy me, even with custom texture packs, so I took on this project initially just to have it as a project in my world. It then occurred to me that I could feasibly construct it into an adventure map by digging out natural mob spawners and creating a key puzzle by putting secrets behind locked doors, while hiding key levers in various spots around the map.

I already have the map laid out, and the mob spawners set, now it’s come down to detail work. Getting paintings up and laying out props and putting in piston powered doors. It’s looking pretty sweet.

Started FEAR Perseus Mandate. Good old FEAR. Too bad no other game will have shooting mechanics as glorious as FEAR and its expansions. Also restarted Far Cry. Got a little farther than I did before but still suck at it.

Just tried to install this. The mod installed fine but now I can’t run Deus Ex at all because apparently the Direct2Drive version of the game had a changed EXE over the original. Well, bugger.

Use the GOG version.

Condemned: Criminal Origins. It’s quite a game really. I recommend it if you like cop vs serial killer thriller kinda things. Wicked fun combat.

^ EXCELLENT pick. The original Condemned is my favorite survival horror game of all time.

A lot more Minecraft than I should be playing. Though Wolfenstein E1M1 is practically finished, just need to put in level props and a few more wall decals, and we should be good.

I want to get this on YouTube so I can show people, though I’m running a laptop with no capture card, anyone know of a decent program that is capable of capturing video game footage that’s free and similar to FRAPS?

I’d recommend CamStudio.

It’s free and works pretty well. You may need to watch some tutorials on YouTube to get the most out of it, but it is honestly the best free screen recorder I’ve ever used.

Dead Trigger. It’s an app for IPod touch and IPhone. It’s one of the sexiest, best running, most addicting 3D games for the platform I’ve seen yet. If anyone here has played Dead Frontier, it’s kinda like that, only story line based. It’s even made using unity engine.

Also, I’ve never played the original condemned, though I’ve heard great things about it.

As long as you don’t ever play the second game it’s great. Bloodshot manages to completely destroy the atmosphere of the original game minutes into the story by explaining too much.

I have a tendency to do that :stuck_out_tongue:

As for what I played today- more X-Com. snooorrrrrrrrrt
That game is basically my drug.

The Game Progress Thread Exists in :bms: forums! but with a longer title :3

Rayman Origins

I Rescued a Fairy that gave me the power to punch stuff, completed the first three levels, and i seem to have problems with sprinting

Borderlands

Got a new machine gun, good firerate and a damage that puts my shotgun to dust, but my problem with it’s accuracy. I killed King Wee Wee and saved a Claptrap who gave me a Backpack SDU, which means more inventory!

Resonance of Fate. I love these animations. It took me awhile to get into it, but I’m rolling through pretty well now. To be completely honest, I picked it up simply because I love anime and the drawing styles therein, and this looked like such

…Isn’t that true of a lot of Japanese games?

The fantastic animations? Yes.
Or the last part? Yes, that’s mostly true. Some don’t have that kinda feel to it.

Just finished FEAR Perseus Mandate. One of my favorite FPS series. I might pick up FEAR 2 at some point, though I played the demo and it feels pretty different. I did like that you can flip things for cover yourself.

Fooled around with Kerbal Space Program 18.1
A lot has changed since I last played. There’s a lot more parts and functionality along with those parts. I’d this game is coming along nicely.
