I didn’t actually play anything today, but last night I dreamed I was playing a really weird JRPG.
Played some UT2k4 today, got more mods (too many mods)
Game’s still really addicting.
Just finished Metroid: Zero Mission for GBA tonight. A short but excellent experience. Loved every minute of it. And then I breezed through Spring Breeze from Kirby Super Star for SNES. I guess it was supposed to be a remake of Dream Land, but they neutered the levels. It would have been awesome if it was the full game with the additional mechanics that they put in there with the SNES sprites, but alas we move on. Otherwise, an enjoyable experience - I should play it with my wife, because apparently humans can join in when you add a helper, according to Game Grumps.
So I went and started up Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. This is my first Square turn-based JRPG, so I have no idea what to expect. The art design is throwing me off a bit with the juvenile dialogue. I guess I’m not used to it yet. Either way, not much of a fan of the isometric perspective with prerendered environments, but the gameplay is fun. Similar to Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga’s mechanics, and I know there is a reason for that.
I should also mention that I have also been going through Ocarina of Time’s Master Quest on the 3DS. Zelda is always good fun. No complaints about reworked dungeons.
Nearing the end of Unreal 2. It doesn’t feel as short as it used to, and these levels I’m on have really cool architecture reminiscent of giger’s work and I never got this far before, so the levels and weapons are completely new to me.
This is probably one of the only games where I have actually enjoyed the whole “defend a position” gameplay they throw at you, mainly because there are so many defensive options you are given in this game, and how different the battles can play out if you place your defenses even a little differently.
So I got around to try out Mass Effect 3 demo, after 2 demo… and I still wonder if the trilogy is worth 25 euro’s, because it looks interesting…
yes, even with ME3 terrible ending
It is worth that price, yes.
takes action
Thanks guys.
If you only played the demos for ME2 and 3, you’ll find the combat mechanics in ME1 a bit rougher but it more than makes up for it with a very good story and characters.
I remember hearing nothing but praise for ME3 up until the very moment everyone finished it.
I still need to play ME3… I got it on sale ages ago.
I’d finish ME3, but my 360 is currently a paperweight so no dice.
You know, I never understood exactly why having gotten the game for free legally makes you a noob. Especially on TF2. I myself own the Orange Box disk, but I seem to be the only non-F2P who thinks this way.
EDIT: Wait, the heck? Forum bug. That showed up as the latest post.
Yeah, the ending is the only flaw in an otherwise amazingly excellent series. Even at that it isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be, especially with the Extended Cut. And in my mind they’ve more than made up for any such mistakes, perceived or real, with their incredible support for ME3. Despite the strange misstep with the difficulty of acquiring DLC in ME2 and the annoying Day 1 DLC for ME3, ME3 has gotten some of the best DLC I’ve ever seen.
You’re not alone about the F2P thing. In paid games that go F2P, I think a lot of it comes down to this strange sense of being cheated out of something that people get when someone gets what you got for free, even if it’s much later on. It makes even less sense in TF2’s case because it was always cheap anyways, and it was only a one time purchase. Hardly anyone would complain so much if they just lost $20, but somehow after getting exactly what they agreed to pay for and used for like 5 years, now that someone else can play it for free they get mad.
In the case of MMO’s it might be slightly more justified, as a F2P might represent someone who isn’t committed to the game, signifying that they might not be as dependable or as good as a paying player, or that they can’t even get the benefits that subbers get that make them worthwhile party members. It’s still not cool to be mean to F2P players or make fun of them. F2P is basically demo mode and that’s part of what’s wrong with modern games, a lack of a way to evaluate a game before purchasing it. I embrace it, and I hope that this wave of F2P options for MMOs might cause a revelation in the rest of the gaming market and cause a resurgence of game demos. I can only hope…
HHHNNNGGGGGG
That’s seriously awesome right there.
I love how they even changed the doors.
How peculiar. I suddenly would like this instead of Episode 3.
its kind of lame that you ogtta aim vertically
