What Game Did You Play Today?

Played some DooM 3 w/ Sikkmod and Wulfen textures, after it took me 2 friggin weeks to get the game to go 1920/1080

Doom 3 supports almost any resolution natively. It’s as simple as changing a few things in one of the config files. It even supports 16:10 resolutions, which a lot of current games don’t even do.

Played the last two ME3 DLCs, Omega and Citadel. Omega was pretty good, but I never liked Aria that much so it wasn’t anything special. Citadel was awesome though. Challenging fights, hilarious dialogue…and some feels too.

Finished Dreamfall today. MASSIVE spoiler content below.

[color=’#151515’]OH MY GOD WHAT A FUCKING CLIFFHANGER. Did NOT see Helena Chang being Zoe’s mom coming. I shouldn’t have been surprised that Faith was Zoe’s sister though. They do share a close physical resemblance. Their last scene together was heartbreaking.

And April Ryan had better be fucking alive, goddamn it. She is too awesome to die so easily.

Also, WHAT THE FUCK IS THE UNDREAMING. Seriously. I mistook it for a Chaos Vortex when I first saw it going after Westhouse.

Managed to get MGS2 to work on PC and am playing that. I don’t know if I should emulate it instead or not. I don’t know whose idea it was to hold the left stick down to go into first person mode and then use the left stick to look around in that mode.

On PS2 it was the right shoulder button. The Xbox port had the wonky “hold down the stick” function. This was because of the Xbox 1’s layout not having a pair of shoulder buttons in addition to the triggers. The equivalent was the White and Black buttons below ABXY, hence the new location for FPV on Xbox.

I actually got it. I can hold down the right shoulder button, it works much better. It really needs some AA though and I don’t know how the PC version compares graphically to the PS2 version oddly enough. I think emulating the PS2 version would look much better than the PC version.

the pressure sensetive button stuff might be a hassle thru the emulator

Should be fine if I’m using a 360 controller, at least for the triggers. I don’t think the buttons on it are pressure sensitive so it doesn’t make much of a difference either way. Just means I can’t put my weapon back down once I’m aiming.

Lightly pressing square to aim a machine gun without shooting was so much fucking bullshit. If only devs had figured out the modern shooter mechanics earlier…

sometimes on the battlefield its harder to not shoot than to shoot man kojima is a genius

:open_mouth:

I SEE THE LIGHT NOW!

I want the HD collection on PC. Does MGS3 emulate well yet? The PC version of MGS2 is missing the shadow of Raven in the tanker level as well as the projections when you’re trying to take picture of metal gear Ray.

I have it for the PS3. It’s hella tight.

All of our PS2 controllers are broken and I can’t play any of the games we have.

I just want to play Kinetica.

The GameCube “Twin Snakes” remake had a similar problem. You can cancel out of aiming by unequipping the weapon with the trigger.

So started emulating MGS2. It does look better. The only issue I’ve encountered so far is that if the framerate gets too low I’ll start getting messed up audio or the characters will even start speaking slowly.

Gears of War 3 again, but I’m stuck. spoiler below, as it’s the only way to describe how and where I’m stuck
[COLOR=‘Black’]the scene in act 3 where Dom dies is where I’m stuck. Everytime one of the lament tenatacles shoots up outs the ground in the cutscene, the game freezes. It’s annoying me deeply.

Beat FEAR 2. Great game, though the mechanics do seen a little meh compared to FEAR.

all this ps2 emu talk got me to try and play god hand but nyope my pc aint gonna do that at fast enough

Loving Arma 3 Lite. Definitely gonna get the alpha
