What Game Did You Play Today?

Amazon probably has them, or maybe a comic shop in a bigger city.

Oh, finally got Jagged Alliance 2 working. Bit of a pain in the ass, but looking forward to trying the game!

I finally got T2X working with my Steam install. Pretty cool so far.

n. It sucks dick that there’s no controller support on PC. This game would play really naturally with a controller.

Arkham City, tried to collect some more riddler trophies and solving riddles to make riddler shut his fat fucking smug face.

Also played Twattlefield 3 some more, still can’t get over some of its design choices.

OH MY FUCKING GOD FUCK YOU XCOM ENEMY UNKNOWN. Seriously. Impossible lives up to it’s name. I haven’t even managed to survive the first mission.

EDIT: Decided to try Classic Ironman. Equally stupid- my stupid rookies panicked and shot Zhang. This game makes me SO angry. It’s a great game and all, but I have serious anger problems when I play it.

ArmA III.

Always had a thing for the US Navy SEALs. Downloaded 75th Rangers and US Navy DEVGRU (US Navy Warfare Development Group, in case anyone’s wondering, former SEAL Team 6). God. I’m NOT wearing the default Multicam again, not if I can pick up AOR1 or AOR2! A billion times better looking uniforms. And camouflage pattern.

Planetside 2.

This game is incredibly poorly optimized, and apparently runs particularly poorly on AMD cards like mine. It’s still playable, though, and really damn fun.

Edit: also, the flight controls are a crime against nature.

Finished up Doom II.

Dead Space 2… cut off their limbs!.. cut off their limbs!!

Brothers : A Tale of Two Sons…finished it…what A game…my soul is crushed…thanks Starbreeze.

Dead Space 1… heading to Hydroponics to clean up the contaminated air. Hopefully, it’s just a blown fuse…

I’m still in Engineering tram. Hehe.

“Beat” Peace Walker, as in finished the final fight against Peace Walker. There are still a few more missions and apparently a secret ending though.

Also played Stalker for about a half hour but kept dying on the bandit raid in the Garbage. I’m installing a Source mod called Underhell right now, which was just released, the first chapter at least, pretty recently. The developer has put a lot of detail into the game. It’s got working mirrors, actual functional scopes like in Tripwire games, a kicking melee attack like Duke Nukem and kind of FEAR, and lots of other cool stuff.

The ending missions for PW are unlocked when you complete ZEKE, I think. Thankfully you don’t have to Rank S everything like I thought I had to.

I tried playing DS1, but I didn’t make it past the main menu. What causes the crazy mouse movement?

It’s the vsync. Turn it off and force it from your drivers if you can. That should help. The vsync also limits the framerate to 30 instead of whatever your refresh rate is.

Played some Underhell. I’m really amazed at how good the shooting is. Feels a lot like FEAR I think, which is good. Grenades and shotguns are satisfying as hell, as is kicking a guy across the room.

Here’s more specific details on how to fix the crazy mouse movement.

In simpler terms, as Kairouseki stated:

  1. In the game’s settings menu, turn VSYNC to off.
  2. Assuming you have an nVidia GPU, in the nVidia driver control panel, set VSYNC to on.

I strongly suggest you give this game another try. It’s fraught with tension, and gives quite a few good scares. The levels are large and very detailed, and the sound work is fantastic. Also, consider Dead Space 2. It’s superior in most areas, especially the graphics.

And I thought merely going down a few notches with sensitivity would do.

Well, shows how much I knew. But yeah, it has quite a few good scares.

Such as when you play it at midnight and suddenly your mom walks in your room… Damn, never been looking for a weapon in my (own) hands so feverishly as that time for a plasma cutter. Thank fuck, I realized the next second.

Wait until you have to re-visit Medical, to prepare/obtain the anti-toxin for the alien flesh growth. All I can say is, you’d better save often.

Well… shit.

Anyway, snatched DCS: P-51D Mustang. VROOOOOOOOOOOM, Merlin came to life, along with an ear-to-ear smile on my face.

Remembering the start up procedure, I can’t quite place generator on the right side of the cockpit. Also forgot to set parking brake first.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
