What Game Did You Play Today?

Reinstalled Unreal Tournament 2004, first time in a couple of years. Holy fuck does it have a ton of customization options. To think a lot of AAA PC games now advertise having an FOV slider as a feature when this game had that among the other dozens of changeable options.

100% AC3: Done.

What’s your verdict on the game? I played it up until child Connor and kinda liked it, but the general consensus is that the game is a bit of a letdown and is quite buggy.

In all honesty? The actual storyline missions were so-so, none of them felt really big or important enough for me to keep on doing them.

However, I loved the shit out of the secondary missions. I actually finished most of the stuff (like feathers, chests, crazy-old-pirate trinkets etc) way before finishing the storyline.

I’ve never seen a game advertise having a FOV slider.

Well, not advertising, but confirming it in interviews and all that, like it’s a privilege to have it.

Dishonored and BF3 did iirc. I still think it’s silly that people say it’s “standard” when not many games have it to begin with. SS3 and Black Ops 2 are the only other ones I can think of and BO2 only goes up to 80 or something.

BO2 goes up to 90 now.

Played some TOR. I have to say it is quite enjoyable. The story for the Inquisitor is quite good, although I would like another KotOR game at some point.

Also, has anyone played Metal Gear Rising yet? Is it any good?

the demo is fresh as heck

I thought demos were all but extinct.

Well shit, see you guys later

Hello.

I’m stuck on the third mission in Wargame European Escalation. My tanks all have shitty accuracy and I’m constantly one-shotted by the enemy’s tanks.

Binge played Dead Space 3.
Holy.
Fucking.
Shit.
The elements they put in were amazing! Only disliked one part.

Just beat Rocket Knight Adventures on Genesis again. I have memorized this game to a rather unhealthy degree.

Also, apparently Tappy Iwase worked on the game’s music. Tappy also composed the original main theme of Metal Gear Solid, so that’s kinda cool.

UT2004 with the ballistic weapons and blood mod.

I have to say, one of my major gripes with 2k4 was the lack of powerful sounding weapons and the very basic animations compared to UT99, but picking and choosing the more Unreal-like weapons from the Ballistic weapons mod and all of them feel really powerful and the excellent enhanced gore adds to that, I’m really starting to like UT2k4 a lot more then I used to. Add on top of that, I’ve just found quite a few maps faithful to the Unreal/UT99 aesthetic in 2k4 as well, and some of them are remakes that use the music too.

vein in forehead explodes

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Fucking FFX. I swear to fuck. I’m doing that “collect the monsters in the calm lands” thing, manage to whittle down the strongest enemy on the list to 3k hp, gonna have Wakka knock it down to 1000 but the fucker gets a goddamn critical hit and does 5k damage. His ball isn’t a capture ball to boot. AGH.

I played some dwarf fortress. Fought one of the randomly-generated megabeasts.

This time it was a hill titan, a giant hummingbird that breathed fire. It just flew right over my moat and walls, and started burning my workers. Since my militia is still completely unarmed, I should have been screwed, but a hunter nearby started peppering it with crossbow bolts. He got a lucky shot and managed to sever its spine, paralyzing it; it fell into the courtyard, no longer able to fly, and then a militia dwarf kicked it to death.

More UT2k4. There actually are quite a few songs I like in this game.

This one’s one of my favorites:

Played some ME3 multiplayer with the new multiplayer DLC. They give you a free pack which has one of the new things in it, and I got the female turian vanguard. Not sure if I like her yet or not. For a vanguard, she seems to be a little too reliant on weapons. Her powers are centered around doing poison DOT, but none of them are really impressive. I think she needs a buff to make playing her worth it. I can’t wait to get the Geth Juggernaut though, it looks amazing. You basically get to be a Geth Prime. How awesome is that? He can’t take cover, dodge, or even run, but he’s got about 4600 shields and 2600 health, deployable cover, and a heavy melee that recharges his shields.

I gotta say, despite the blunder of ME3’s ending, Bioware’s support for ME3 MP has been pretty awesome.
