Been playing a lot of NHL13 since finishing AC3.
Should actually get around to finishing Red Dead Redemption one day.

You and me both. I feel like the plot loses a great deal of momentum once you get to Mexico.
Brutal DOOM with Pistol.
That’s one thing I don’t like about that game. If you don’t upgrade the right things, you’re fucked.
EDIT: Also, apparently Battlefront 3 was 99% done before it was cut. It may be old news, but it still burns deep in my soul.
Meh, that was a hyperbole.
Blacklight: Retribution.
It’s a good game. Most of the gameplay mechanics are very solid, and the weapon customization is fantastic; it’s nice to see something more advanced than just different types of scopes and grenade launchers.
But the gameplay is very twitchy, and I’m constantly finding myself getting oneshot by someone with an AR while fighting someone else, or running into an enemy while running down a corridor and getting gunned down before I can react.
yeah shooters
I like it though, I think we should have a huge BL:R party one day.
Shooters, yeah. About to play that too. Over the years I’ve learned that vodka mixes well with anything, except social interactions and personal accomplishments.
Doom 3. I think that Doom 3 has the most satisfying sounding shotgun I’ve ever seen in a video game. That boom clack clack every time I use it puts a smile on my face. FEAR still wins with satisfying usage though.
Clearly you haven’t played with the Remington 870 in Black. At least for sound.
Impact-wise, F.E.A.R. has the best shotgun ever. You can pink mist people with that fucker.
MGS1 on a PSX emulator. Ran surprisingly well.
Playing “The Longest Journey,” in an effort to catch up on the story before going through Dreamfall.
The puzzles in this game are really crazy and unnecessarily esoteric. Why the fuck would you need a clap, fishing line, and a rubber ducky to pick up a key from a railroad track when you could just use a rubber glove instead? (The glove gets used in a very similar way ANYWAY later.)
^ This, BLACK have great sound, visual effect and weapon animation. However, the gun models pisses me off.
Brought War of the Roses and shot some fools who tries to execute my teammates, bait sure is useful.
It is nice change of pace from Chivalry since War of the Roses is more forgiving.
Even though I don’t really care for the game that much, Quake 2’s double barrel probably is my favorite shotgun ever in terms of visual design and the sound it makes

Functionality-wise I’d have to say the FEAR shotgun, followed by the Flak Cannon - if you can count that as a sort of pseudo-shotgun/grenade launcher.
I actually kinda know Chris Sweetman, the sound designer on that game :3
Pre-ordered the new Insurgency and had instant access to alpha build. Been playing it for the better part of the afternoon and I can say that the game feel is nearly spot on for a semi-sim fps, of course it still needs a lot of tweaks and changes to make it smoother, but as it stands, it feels really good playing it.
The maps are kinda nice but need more balancing and reclipping.
Also have some silly shots:
Saddam really likes lasers
You never go full Rayden
Not today, but installed chivalry yesterday on a friend’s comp and them try it.
It was pretty hilarious watching them play for the first time, whenever an enemy would swing his sword at them they would actually try to duck or back away in real life
Incidentally, I’ve noticed that BL:R has a pretty nasty memory leak. Is there a way to counter this other than just occasionally restarting the game?
Maybe force the coders at gunpoint to fix it.
