Lair of the Shadow Broker is a complete must for ME2.
So I’ve been playing Bioshock Infinite and holy shit, this game is perfect.
Yup. Best DLC of all of the ME2 DLC, for my money. Very snappy writing.
playing black ops and found a pair of nike’s in the mystery box
Kinda happened to SOMEHOW get the Zaeed - Price of Revenge DLC with the trilogy. It also included what I consider all of the ME1 DLCs (Bring Down The Sky is the asteroid and planet, right; and the training station is the Pinnacle Station DLC), and quite a few ME2/ME3 DLCs.
So at this point, I have Zaeed and Normandy crashsite for ME2, and Extended Cut for ME3. Thought Kasumi and Citadel might be a good combo, with a few left over points for when I feel like more, but hey, you guys know what stuff’s about, so I thought I’d ask.
Still kinda surprised at how many DLCs I got, even if almost all of the ME3 DLCs seem to be useless MP stuff, and most of ME2 stuff isn’t overly usefull either. It’s EA we’re talking, after all.
I’d also recommend Leviathan for ME3. Skip Omega, though. Way too overpriced for what we got.
Assassin’s Creed III, finally beat all the Homestead missions so I’m basically done with this game until Episode 3 of King Washington.
Dwarf Fortress.
The fort I’ve been playing with over the last semester, for probably months now, has finally fallen. It was critically weakened by a very large siege with some incredibly badass goblin heroes in it, and a second wave just washed over my defenses.
And thank god for that. The damn fort was just a zombie at this point, lurching along in spite itself. I can hardly wait to start a new one.
Yeah, Citadel is pretty much the best DLC for the ME series. Leviathan and From Ashes for ME3 are not entirely necessary, but they’re definitely worth it IMO. Leviathan adds/clarifies a pretty important piece of lore, and the mission is fun too. From Ashes gives you a pretty great character. I would skip Omega for ME3 unless you REALLY like Aria or the Omega station. It’s pretty boring otherwise.
On the subject of Mass Effect, I finally got the Juggernaut for MP today. Friggin’ finally. Also the MP stuff is only useless if you don’t play MP, which you should at least try. It’s really fun. I like the MP combat much more than I do the SP. There are so many characters, weapons, and ways to play that it really doesn’t get old despite the fact that you only have limited options as far as enemies and maps.
Played a little Future Shock and Duke 3D.
Also watched this overall look at the fallout series. Some really interesting stuff.
It was a free DLC. So were Normandy Crash Site and Firewalker, along with a handful of weapon and armor packs. So it wouldn’t surprise me if all of those are being bundled with later editions.
That’s uncharacteristically generous of EA…
that was back when they hadn’t realized they could bend mass effect to appeal to the shooters-only crowd
To be fair, Mass Effect 1 wasn’t very good at RPG elements anyway. ME2 was overall a more refined experience freed from the endless boring inventory management.
I liked ME1’s levelup and inventory stuff more than ME2’s. There were more armor choices, more weapon choices, and you could keep multiple things in your inventory at a time and switch between them for different instances.
More Might and Magic VI. Even if I know this game by heart, I just can’t lose the enjoyability.
Yeah, more armor “choices” in the sense that you picked new armors that were of higher level each time. I much prefer the molecularity and flexible outfitting introduced in ME2 because we can pick exactly what kind of armor stuff we want and mix and match to suit our needs.
I do miss the cool looking colors of some of the old ME1 armors though, they looked more like combat battlesuits because some of them had camo patterns. The same effect can be recreated by using the colors feature on ME2/3 armor with the third pattern for the stripe color giving us a camo like pattern.
I liked the ME2 system because you could set it up once and never touch it again.
The things I missed about ME1 was the customization of weapons and the cooldown mechanic. I did hate the inventory system though, so when ME2 dropped it and significantly refined the combat, I guess it was just a bit of a trade off.
Yeah and because you had to pick full armor suits in ME1, you’d often have to force your squad to wear ridiculous outfits simply because they were the best you had. I’m pretty sure I made Wrex wear a pink suit for a good chunk of ME1.
Me1 had the best inventory, look, and world. It was massive and tedious and I loved it all
Not to mention, it felt more like you were exploring worlds rather than following linear shooter sections. I don’t mind that so much, but it feels like a bit of a step back, in my opinion.
O.T. Syphon Filter on an emulator. Should probably get a controller for it, but the keyboard controls aren’t working terribly bad. Pretty solid game for the PS1.
