Hitman: Absolution. It’s more linear at certain points than Blood Money, but I think it pulls itself off pretty damn well.
Just finished Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. One of the best game experiences I’ve had any time recently. Story was pretty good, voice acting was really good, gameplay is kind of clunky but I liked it, especially since I played mostly stealthily. The last boss was a pushover though. The second to last boss was much harder.
I actually like it when the final bosses/endings are easy. It lets you focus more on the story, rather than just throwing yourself against a boss so many times that you stop paying attention. Portal 2 and Metro 2033 are both great examples of this.
I like difficult bosses as long as their attacks can be dodged.
Played some more Duke3D today. Makes me really wish DNF wasn’t such a piece of shit. I hope Duke 5 from GBX is actually good.
Haven’t played a game in about a day and a half due to sudden onset wrist pain. No idea what caused it, but I haven’t been able to do anything of worth- write, design levels, or play X-Com. Thankfully I’m doing better now but still taking it easy.
[Insert obvious joke about masturbating too much]
I’ve been trying Dead Space 2’s multiplayer lately. It’s annoying; it can be pretty fun when it works, but there are a ton of glaring oversights. There’s no text chat, only voice. There’s also no server browser, and the matchmaker only seems to want to dump me in empty lobbies.
What a mess. I’ve got high hopes for DS3 co-op, though.
Finished Hitman: Absolution. The epilogue was pretty awesome, although [COLOR=‘Black’]I’m a bit disappointed that you don’t get the blast the antagonist yourself.
For some odd reason, Fallout New Vegas
I’m actually reaching my first 40 hours
Played Alien Swarm today. This game is great, though I kinda wish that friendly fire was just disabled. It’s far too annoying.
The starter shotgun is a fully automatic high-capacity shotgun with a built-in incendiary grenade launcher. It’s beautiful.
I beat spec ops the line… Not sure what to think.
I always see forum threads about that game everywhere and they are always filled with comments that pretty much all say “It was alright.”
The gameplay in that game is the most average you can think of, but the story is some of the best subversive plots in videogames in recent years. It gets more and more fucked up (in a good way) the more you play.
In the end you’re just saying to yourself: “Holy shit. What the fuck did just happen?”
I started playing the second quest of the original Legend of Zelda.
Nearly two years after I bought Skyrim, I finally completed the main quest today. It’s quite easy if you just stick to it from the beginning, so most enemies don’t get harder with the level scaling thing.
The main quest is pretty fun. The biggest problem is simply that it gets really dull in the middle, specifically most of the blades quests, which really aren’t even worthwhile because they basically just tell you to fuck off if you won’t kill your mentor.
I feel like the generic gameplay is sort of the point. I’m still digesting the game.
wow, how did you get it so many months before it’s release?
Fallout 3. I’m trying get it not to crash every 30 mins or so.
