What Game Did You Play Today?

Serious Sam 3. Mowed down a couple hundred aliens with a minigun while Sam cracked jokes about it. Seriously, I nearly fell out of my chair when he said “My diagnosis: acute lead poisoning”.

Well, that wouldn’t be the only reason to get a DS. There are plenty of great games for that platform.

I beat Bit.Trip Fate ~ Wii

I played some Dwarf Fortress today.

We got a ton of work done on the surface fortifications, enough to satisfy my aesthetic tastes while still being highly defensible. The marksdwarf squad is getting to be very good, too. A fishery worker withdrew to society to make a bone artifact, a hatch cover. He’s now a legendary bone carver, and I’ve set him to work making high-quality bone crossbow bolts to supply the militia.

The food and wine stockpiles are full to overflowing, the dining and sleeping rooms are now incredibly well-decorated, and I’m expecting a Goblin siege force any day now.

Soon I hope to make the fortress of Paintedbloods live up to its name.

Edit: Hell yes, we stuck marble near the first cavern layer. Steel battleaxes and plate armor for everyone!

Played some Descent 3, got up to the second level. Something about it just seems odd compared to the old games, and the music is strange.

Halo 4 matchmaking.

I’m surprised that it turned out as well as it did. But we’ll see what happens as I keep playing in the future.

Attempted to play Assassin’s Creed 3 but the fucking console froze after four minutes. So I tried out Super Meat Boy. Then I ragequit.

I am stuck in a perpetual loop. I am a major Metroid fan and I keep finding myself playing the entire series from start to finish and I just won’t stop doing so

Anyone here find themselves in the same cycle from time to time?

Just uninstall the games or something.

I just got done playing the Killzone 2 demo. Damn those controls are awkward. Mainly having to click the right stick to ADS. The fuck were they thinking?

Played some Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation earlier today, about to play something (unsure yet) on my 360.

You can change the control layout to something more playable in the options.

Dota 2 (thanks to Kamikal!)
I’m playing the halloween event, it’s funny!

BF3 – when I noticed this:

What’s the problem?:retard:

That’s just what they’re calling Canada these days. Didn’t you see the news?

Played AC3 and DotA 2 today. So close to hatching my egg in dota 2, I gotta farm for essences before the halloween event ends this Monday :frowning: .

I beat a couple games the past couple of days. Both short, and both in one sitting each. Up first is Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 for Wii. A fun game, just like the Sonic games I used to play from the Genesis. I didn’t have a problem with the way Sonic was animated or with the tightness of the controls. It felt like a Sonic game should. Though the quirky music was incredibly obnoxious, and annoying. It was about the only thing I really disliked about the game. This coming from someone who loves video game music, the Sonic games especially. The game was short, though acceptable as Sega was initially going for an episodic format, that went the way of the Half Life 2 episodes. I suppose it would have taken me a bit longer had I hunted down every last Chaos Emerald, but the special stages are kinda ridiculous.

On the following night after work, I sat down and played Bit.Trip Flux for Wii, the last of the Bit.Trip saga before Runner 2 is released. Started out on Normal difficulty, but I wasn’t getting anywhere, so I dropped it down to Easy. I NEVER do that, unless the game is absolutely unrelenting. Apparently Easy was too easy as I breezed through it. Good enough for me. I only really wanted to listen to the awesome music, and failing at the game prevents that from happening.

Since I beat those two games, during the interim while I wait for MegaMan X8 to arrive in the mail, I’ve been playing a little bit of TrackMania Nations, Team Fortress 2, and some Goldeneye: Source.

I’ve also been spending quite a bit more time in Minecraft. I just did some interior decorating for my cabin, which I have dubbed, “Skywalker Ranch”. Got some red carpenting down, and added some lighting via redstone lamps. Though hunting for glowstone in the Nether is a pain. Stupid Zombie Pigmen. I’m going to start construction on my next project, which will be the first level from Wolfenstein 3D. I know people have done it already, but I want to do it for myself, and perhaps get it at a 1:1 ratio.

Played some Spore. I’m trying to see how far I can expand my empire before I get bored.

Played more dwarf fortress today. My defenses have turned out to be excellent; two titans and a goblin siege force composed of two squads of lashers* separately attacked my fortress and were all dispatched. We suffered only one casualty, a hammerdwarf, between the three attacks.

*Goblins with whips; due to a quirk in how weapon effectiveness is calculated, the miniscule contact area of whips makes them extremely deadly.[/SIZE]

Edit: Goddamnit, one of the vampires just killed my elite marksdwarf! Why are there so many of them?!

30 Flights of Loving, since I bought it for $3 in a sale a while ago. Seriously, what the fuck was this game? It would be hard to even call it a game, an interactive pulp-fiction style narrative experience. Thought it was trying to be cool with some edgy, 60’s spy theme about betrayal or something that I couldn’t give a shit about. And then it’s over in 5 minutes? Not even worth $5. I don’t usually rant about games but this was a fucking joke. Save your money and watch it on Youtube.

Getting back into Oblivion. Maybe I’ll actually finish the main quest this time.
