Quake on Nightmare mode was kicking my ass just now, and I only played the first level!
I can’t beat that mission in Vice City where the bikers tell you to cause havoc and you have to fill the chaos meter. It’s impossible.
^ Hijack a tank?
I played Planetside 2 again. It’s actually kinda scary being in charge of a whole platoon, because you have up to forty people judging your ability to lead a large group.
Risk of Rain is hard.
Maybe it’s not.
It’s probably not.
I looked up how to get one. Besides cheating the only way to get a tank is to store one from an earlier mission that I’ve already passed or to steal it from a military base, but it’s only there once you get 90 hidden packages. I only have like 4.
Buy the biggest guns and most explosives as you can and just find a busy section of the map and BLOW EVERYTHING TO UTTER SHITE.
That’s how I handled it.
I lead 30 man platoons in the first one (biggest that was supported). I rose to the challenge and I along with the other platoon leaders continent locked the entire server. We owned EVERYTHING. That was a good day for the TR and TheeGoatPig
I played DoD Source for awhile till I got booted offa server for “hacking” because I pulled off a 180 no scope triple headshot, one of whom was the server admin, who swore up and down about me being some hacker xD
I’m not even wholly sure HOW to hack really, I’m not tech savvy for the most part.
Then I went to my usual server but got bored cause they basically rotate 4-6 of the same maps over and over. Now I dunno what I wanna play, but I have the whole day off to figure it out Dx and I have no clue what to do.
Everyone like was “METTIORD”, and I say be “what” and tthey said “nint announdeced new mattiord beind clost dur” and i like 'whatevar" and then tehy said “METTIORD METTIORD” and I see want to all about the hubbub so downloaded a emulater SNES and play sopper mattiord day all.
Played OpenXcom all day on my phone. Did another terror mission and a few more normal alien missions. The terror mission went a bit better than the first one. I think I saved at least one civilian but all the others died, one killed by me. And all but 3 of my soldiers died, which is better than last time too. Smoke grenades and high explosives really help. I also captured 2 aliens alive but didn’t have a containment center to put them in. I’ve been playing for 2 in game months. At the end of the first month I lost about $100,000 in funding from the US and Canada, so I started building a base in the US. At the end of the second month my funding was increased by $625,000. Just finished researching laser rifles and made a few to give to a few high ranking soldiers that I’ve had since the beginning of the game.
Played through some more of Rayman 2. Playing the PC version just feels really weird, since I grew up with the ‘inferior’ (so most people say anyway) PS1 version using obviously a controller.
I do like the game, really, but I’ve realised nostalgia makes you think it was more fun and interesting than it really was. That’s just me though.
After that, played some Rayman Origins.
So apparently in Vice City you have to own 5 businesses, one of which has to be a specific one, to do the last few missions. I’m trying to buy businesses to make money and to add to what I need but making money takes forever.
Also played a bit of Divinity: Original Sin and it’s pretty fun.
Played some Outlast a couple days ago (haven’t really played any games since then) and found this:

Not sure that’s what’s supposed to happen. :retard:

Beat Fatman in MGS2 today.
Managed to figure out how to downsample it so I’m doing 1.75x ssaa, which is the highest I can do with a custom resolution. Better than nothing.
Also played some more OpenXcom. Aliens continue screwing me over with grenades. And I just encountered these UFO things that hover above the ground, which if killed with gunfire (grenades and high explosives don’t cause it) they explode.
Finished Transistor…what a all around beautiful game…thank you…THANK YOU VERY MUCH Super Giant Games …cries.
Mario Kart 8.
Beat the harrier boss in MGS2 and also started MGS1 on PC. Surprisingly it seems to have less issues than MGS2 but the highest resolution you can go is 1024x768 and it’s locked at 30 fps (20-24 fps in cutscenes).
Edit: Also, the PC version doesn’t suffer anywhere near as much as the PS1 version when it comes to that weird texture shifting stuff when anything moves that pretty much every PS1 game had.
I think that was caused by the lack of texture filtering and low Z-buffer / depth precision on the PS1 version.
I wonder if forcing AA would work on MGS1? 4x4 supersampling might help to counter the low resolution somewhat
It works. I have 8x csaa and 4x transparency supersampling. Nary a jaggy to be found. The issue is it has to be upscaled to my monitor’s resolution and I can’t figure out how to get windowed mode at higher than like 800x600. Not too much of an issue but weird that there’s no way to tweak these things.
And about the texture shifting thing, the game is more or less a straight port so I find it strange that the issue isn’t as bad. Why would the z-buffer or depth precision be increased on the PC version when everything else (besides resolution) is essentially the same?
Depending on what you’re after, you might have to go through control panel and use GPU scaling set to aspect scaling or no scaling
The Z/depth buffer precision might be the same on PC as PS1, I don’t know - don’t have the game to check it out myself.
Texture filtering (+ maybe mipmaps) by itself might be enough to fix the issue, if it’s just details on surfaces that pop and shift (rather than geometry and surface details).
