What Game Did You Play Today?

Played MGS2 up to the end of the Fatman fight pretty much but then shortly after the power went out and I hadn’t saved since I first met Pliskin in the game. Have to play that all over again.

Also got to the final mission in Thief and played a bit more of Sir, You Are Being Hunted, which I’m almost through my first playthrough.

Beat The Last of Us. Truly a work of art, that one was.

I never really noticed. Even if that’s true, to me, Skyrim’s skills generally felt more usable at lower levels, so the progression didn’t feel as painful.

While I too loved FFX, I really disliked FFXIII. Combat was too oversimplified, weapons were uninteresting because you would almost never got new ones and instead just gradually upgraded one, story was boring, characters were dull and mostly one-dimensional…and then there was that bizarre, out of place scene where [color=’#151515’]an adult almost straight up murders a child. Anyway I could never finish it.

The only thing I think I absolutely HAVE to mod in that game is the head-bobbing. It makes me sick to look at. That said I’ve never played SoC vanilla before. I’ve always heard it was a really obvious beta and had lots of bugs, bad gunplay, bad localization, and ridiculously difficult AI, so I always played with the Complete Mod. Perhaps sometime I’ll have to try it sometime, what were your experiences with it?

If you’ve only ever played with Complete, do a vanilla run. Complete makes the game a lot easier and changes quite a bit of other things. That or install AMK/ZoA. You can lower the head bob through the console without using mods too.

I was using Oblivion Lost last time I played STALKER.

EDIT: FUCK YOU LADY YUNALESCA. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.

You subject me to a largely unskippable cutscene, have instant TPK capable attacks, and the one time I actually beat you, I can’t find the damn Sun Crest and the room is locked afterwards. FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU.

EDIT #2: Kicked her ass again. Final blow was Kimahri’s Ronso Rage, using Self Destruct. Fitting, considering I was listening to Nine Inch Nails while doing it.

Sounds good, will try it out at some point.

Did a solo gold game in ME3 today using EDI-bot. It was pretty nerve-wracking especially since I wasted most of my medigel in the first rounds being stupid. But somehow I managed to get back into the game and play smarter and more cautiously, and with a little luck of the draw on the objectives, I made it through and extracted successfully. Almost finished completing all the multiplayer challenges, mostly just got a lot of waves to finish using different characters.

I rolled a stealth character once. It was tricky at first, but I quickly got the DB armor, and once my sneak skill was high enough, I could basically just slit the throats of everyone in the dungeon without ever being noticed.

Got past the Emma escort mission (which partially involved underwater parts too) in MGS2. Just got knocked out, which I’m pretty sure is close to the end of the game. I think I like it more now than I did when I originally played it.

I think the whole Raiden thing wouldn’t have been as bad for people when the game released if they hadn’t been thinking they were going to play as Snake the entire time until they finished the tanker section.

“We’ve managed to avoid drowning!”

Bioshock Infinite. Checkpoint saves? Maaaaan…

Halo 2, FF7, and Skyrim.

Just got this mod

Seriously? Even the original BioShock had save-anywhere…

Also, I managed to actually win Blitzball games today. SO FUCKING HAPPY.

Finally started playing Prince of Persia trilogy and I have to say so far even the first one holds up pretty well considering it was released 10 ago.

Sands of Time is one of the hands-down best games ever.

Sands of Time was fucking great. I love it almost as much as I love the original.

Even though most people disagree though, I actually enjoyed Prince of Persia 3D too.

I don’t think I’ve found a PoP game I don’t like haha the series basically gets better with time in most cases.

You haven’t played it? The autosave points were really scarce, so if you need to take a break you generally have to replay a really long section of the game, sometimes 10, 15 minutes worth.

Enjoying Sands of Time really so far,the platforming and the occasional puzzles are satisfying, the combat is much better than in Assassin’s Creed series (no one fucking waits for you to finish the other guy)and the story is pretty good too…at times I am really astonished at how much a labor of love this game is.

I thought the PC version had save-anywhere. It HAS been a while since I’ve played it, though.

System Shock 2, however, DOES have save-anywhere. Why can’t the BioShock games be as good? :frowning:

Sands of Time is one of those games that everybody seems to love but that I didn’t like really at all. I bought it and KOTOR in a relatively short time span (picked up PoP because of the box art and it said “Game of the Year” on it) and liked KOTOR much better.
