I watched my bro play it through when I was around 9-10. When I saw Nihilanth the first time I was like “…what? -__-” Great game whatsoever. Couple years ago I bought the HL1 Anthology from Steam and played through the awesome game myself. And then the Blue Shift and then Opposing Force.

I buyed the HL generation in 2000 so I was like 13 by now. My mother beat the shit out of me to take it back to the store 'cause its too violent for me she said. I remember I’ve finished OP4 before HL and only bullsquids have’d scare me when I fall on them suddently and unprepared.
It change my gamer life forever.

What is worse is that I let my underage kids play it. My oldest was 12 at the time and my middle son was a toddler as he sat on my lap while I played.

I am a very bad parent.

I was 19 when I first played Half-Life. I have good memories of being freaked out by headcrabs. Good times, good times.

When I was 15 in 1998.

Heheh, my niece loved playing the game with me when she was about 4. She’d sit on my lap and hold down the up arrow to go forwards while I did the mouse and any jumping and strafing and stuff. She loved ‘shooting monsters’. She asked me about the game again the other day, she’s six now, so it clearly made an impression!

In case anyone is horrified by this, I’d stop her if I thought the gore, language or horror was going to be too much for her and play Peggle with her instead, but to be honest none of it meant anything to her so there was nothing to upset her.

And when I played Hl2, Ravenholm actually did manage to scare me SHITLESS around then, I wasn’t used to games where there were just rotting dead people sitting around in puddles of mutilated zombies.

There aren’t many games where there’s just dead people rotting around in places, come to think of it.

was probably 16,and i beat the game in 5 hours. 2 of which was for the Nihilanth. he has to be the hardest boss to date. however, i can now beat the game on hard in under 2 hours.

Bullshit. No way you played through HL up to Nihilanth in three hours. I’d believe it if you noclipped through most of the maps, but otherwise you’re either totally forgetful of how long HL was or just talking out of your arse.
