I first played it in 1999, I was 10. However, i didnt play, and finish it, until 2002.
i dont remember how old i was but i only remember that i played it first in internet cafe. cafe was not big 15 computers only. everyone was playing counter-strike 1.5 everyone was playing it and i didn’t like it. so i began playiong the game with that red icon and you know what? i liked it very much, and i told that to other people and they liked it too so in that cafe begun era of Half-life everyone were playing it.than that cafe closed but that era spread to other cafes than everyone bougt computers and era of Half-life ended in that old times i had feeling that i was first person in my country to play half-life. nowi know it
1999 , I was ten and I liked it so much, i kinda got addicted
I play it ever since. I can’t even count how many times I played it trough…20-25 times maybe, still it’s one of the best games ever!
SO THANK YOU BLACK MESA DEVS, FOR PIMPING MY GAME!!!
I don’t remember my age for sure but I was about 9 or something. My friend had bought Half-Life to play CS. He gave the HL for me, and I loved it. Then my friend noticed too how good the game was so he bought it to his Steam. We had a race on who beats the game first, he stopped playing after some time and I stopped too because I didn’t know where to go after you launch the rocket.
Years later (when I was about 13) I played and beat HL2, after that I beat HL1 for the first time and then came Blue Shift and Opposing Force.
So yeah, That’s pretty much it
i was 3 when i watched my dad playing it.i played it when i was 9 or so
I got the black Half-Life generation box as a Christmas gift. The one that came with Opposing Force and the NEW online game called Counter-Strike. Ahh good old memories, must have been around 8 at that time. Now you make me want to play Black Mesa even more. Look what you’ve done!
Edit: This is how the box looks like. Anyone know what the release that was? I’m curious as I don’t recall.
Ha, i got this version:
Newschooler
But I guess you can’t even buy those anymore. Now it is those silly plastic covers.
Bring back the genuine carton boxes please.
I Was 9 when i played it in 1998. I Loved it. I first played the pc version, and I remeber how frieked out i got during the resonance cascade…Good Times.
I was around 7 or 8, played it at my uncle’s place. Got terribly freaked out by ‘Mawmen’, what the zombies were called in the Prima guide. Played HL2 years later, same place, Ravenholm freaked me out. Bought GOTY edition of HL shortly after, saved up for HL2, bought it, and the rest is history.
I was about 2-3 wen i first played it i knew wat to do coz my dad helped me and wen i got to about 8 i was better than him at
I really wanna buy Generation Again but i can’t find it anywhere
Carton? Why, I have never in my entire life seen a carton box for a pc game.
PC Games used to come in huge boxes like these:
Awwww u have original C&C?? Lucky guy…I can’t get it anymore…I had Red Alert 1 in a huge box tho
Not me, just a picture I googled as an example.
I used to have a bunch of those boxes though. Myst, Riven, Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2, DoTT, Full Throttle, The Dig, Monkey Island 1, 2 and 3, Sam & Max Hit the Road. Back when Lucasarts ruled the world.
Have about fifty of those boxes in my house…
Hmmm, I was really little when I first tried out blue shift, didn’t finish it, I bought hl2 and hl source later, got stuck in hl in the beginning where you need to dodge the lasers (I was little) and in hl2 I think I got to route canal or something. then lots of playing the first few chapters of hl2 over and over again, and then- Ravenholm, got stuck there for a while. bought the orange box, beat portal, got about midway through ep1, beat ep2, beat ep1, finished Ravenholm, got to entanglement, got to the tentacles in hl1. got to anticitizen one in hl2, got to power up in hl1, and that’s pretty much where I am today.
I started last year sadly =( I finished hl2 and it’s episodes. Never got to finish half life 1, but i got to the chapter Interloper and died in that workplace because i had no ammo. Good times, why is the half life series so epic?!
Because… I dont know…
