what age you first played hl1?

I also got this version in 2000 or 2001. It was a carton box but inside was one of these modern “DVD” covers.
I first played HL in 1998 or 1999 when my cousin showed it to me at night. I was about 11 years old. It scared and fascinated me like no other game before. So i borrowed it from him and played it through. Later when i got internet I bought it to play CS, which sucked. I did not know there was a Half-Life multiplayer until 2002 or so (which is quite embarrassing) although I remember playing crossfire and frenzy with the “Jumbot” when I first got HL.

I got this version:

The only thing that sucked about getting this package was that Counter-Strike was not included but then I got Counter-Strike: Source (definitely better) so no regrets.

EDIT: Seeing that you have to right-click my image to put it in a new window, the package is the Half Life 1 Anthology that came out for retail in 2005 for Steam.

I played it at 19 years old! Twas a fun game!:3
