What flips my shit is that they announced it in Game Informer like 2 months ago, and I was excited then. But its okay if they wanted to show us some game play footage at E3, but don’t call it a FUCKING SURPRISE like its something I haven’t had burned in my skull for 2 months. I just want something involving half life, Jesus, is that too hard for them to give?
This surprise Gabe had for us? It scares me more then anything else, the level of excitement ol’ Gabe had for the PS3 is leading me to wonder if they’re going to end up abandoning us PC gamers for the Consoles like Infinity Ward did with COD. I mean, I know it’s all about money, but Valve STARTED on PC… heck Gabe used to work at Microsoft! I can understand if they want to port all their games to consoles to make an extra buck but PLEASE Valve PLEASE… don’t start prioritize consoles, making your games strictly for them and giving PC gamers crappy consolized ports. We PC gamers were there for you when you first started out… just remember your roots now that your a big powerful conglomerate now ok? : (
Nothing he’s done would lead me to believe he’s prioritizing consoles. All he’s doing is added Steam functionality (which used to be PC only) to the PS3. He said that PS3 will be the best console version, because currently us PC users have it best. Quitcher complaining.

I don’t know why so many of you have to be so painfully sarcastic, irritable, and unwelcoming here. I’m serious, I’ve been scanning these forums for about 2 years AFRAID to post because of seeing how new people are treated here. Just about every new user here can barely get 3 comments posted here before being trolled… sometimes even on their first post, especially on the suggestion box which leads me to wonder why you guys even have a suggestion area if you’re going to shoot down 80% of them with a hostile or insulting reply anyway. Is it because of the “release the mod now!” noobs? Is that why you guys have lost faith in new users?
I’m not expecting a nice reception from saying all that, just my two cents. But anyway yeah you guys have a good point about Steam in general… but it doesn’t mean much really, even if they did at some point start prioritizing consoles I’m sure they know that no matter how buggy their PC version was we’d still buy it… I mean come on. Also if you thought I meant all this was going down like at this very moment I didn’t This is something I see in the next few years, I mean consoles are controlling more and more of the demographic with every year… so who is a company going to cater to? The console group probably since they have more customers, not to mention a lot less pirators.
But whatever, I should have never even posted in this forum, it’s a real shame that this mod can’t have a respectful friendly forum associated with it… sad really.
PS: Medevilae, I’m not quite sure what lead you to say that… it’s kind of upsetting to hear people thing I’m a noobie when I’ve been playing Valve games from the very beginning. Is it part of Valve’s mission statement? ‘thu shalt not leave PCs?’ because if it is I’d love to see it because it would really ease my mind! I know how great Valve is, they’re one of the grand pioneers of gaming and I love them really. That’s WHY that idea worries me so much, it’d be a HUGE loss to us all… I guess I just can’t think or worry out loud here… sorry I guess…

Yes, to be perfectly frank. It’s because 95% of all new users are trolls, come up with a silly suggestion they haven’t thought through, or simply come to antagonise, belittle and ridicule the developers because they haven’t released the game yet. This clearly isn’t the case with every new user, and evidently not the case with you, but it’s happened so many times that the aggression level towards new members has gone through the roof.
I’m not going to defend this aggression and I’m sorry if you’ve been offended, but when you see a post with poor spelling, punctuation, grammar or a retarded suggestion from someone who clearly hasn’t read the FAQ for the 50th time, then it starts to grate. If someone, on their first post, was to say something intelligent and with correct grammar, there wouldn’t be a problem.
