Valve's E3 Suprise?

As I am sure a lot of you have already read Valve have cancelled their planned E3 event in favour of a “surprise!” event instead. There is a lot of speculation flying about that this might be an unveiling of Half Life Ep 3 (HL3 maybe? lol) However there is always a slight chance no matter how small that this might be Black Mesa related?

I mean how awesome would that actually be! Anyway the original article I read can be found here.
My bets would be on some kind of announcment regarding episode 3? or maybe even something unexpected regarding Portal 2?

Let the speculation commence!

oh god, please l4d3 :retard:

no.

OT: Awesome news is awesome

Wow, i just totally had a vision:

i saw Valve presenting L4D3 in E3…
… and then i saw the Valve offices get burned to the ground by an angry mob

^
lol…

actually that’s not far from the truth…
left 4 dead is only bringing some budget for te upcoming half life episode.
let’s face it. valve’s primary objective is the half life series. but in order to make that as awesome as humanly possible they have to develop other games so they don’t go bankrupt.

also, the cake is a lie…
…and the easter bunny got a bad case of diarrhea…

                      ...life can be tough...

It is valve announcing that they are hiring the black mesa development team, and then selling black mesa to everyone, and all money only goes to the black mesa devs.

faq

I’m sure it’ll be entertaining so long as it doesn’t involve warming up the neurotoxin emitters.

We have already a thread about it

I have a feeling that they’ve got a new series of games to announce. But I still want information on Ep3 and P2.

It says in the article that Portal 2 will still have a booth as well as this “surprise”

Hoping for an announcement regarding EP 3… maybe a trailer and some gameplay footage… plus a trailer for Portal 2. Maybe they will be connected, even more connected than EP 2 and Portal 1.

As long as they don’t announce l3d (or l4d 3 or whatever) they will be safe from getting raped and killed by an angry mob.

yey, l4d3 at last !!!

fuck you valve, i expected to see portal 2 at e3, and now you teling me they wont be showing it ? Instead i get another anoucment for aother game with 5 screens, and meybe a 30s trailer. Somebody needs to fire theirs marketing team, like 3 years ago …

same here, from what i remember they creator of dota was brought in to make a new game for them wasnt he ?

i wouldnt hope for that looking how portal 2 is happening like 100 years after hl2, im also guessing that the reason for deley in ep 3 is that they failed to combine portal and hl, and had to start from scratch.

They still will show Portal 2, it still has a booth.
Also, how much would you eat your words if the surprise was Ep3?

I’ll be seeing “Raminator” in the credits of half-life 2 episode three!?!?! FTW-WTF

In case of buy out, the F.A.Q. wouldn’t apply.

Trailer for Episode three would take the whole attention from P2, they probably won’t do that.

Moreover, Portal 2 has his own story. Nothing about the HLStory will be mentioned there.

Why speak so poorly of the teet that our little gamer mouths suckle from. The company has its reasons for doing what they do. Maybe one day when you have a cutting edge game studio you can do things different? Right.

i didnt say anything bad about them O_o I just said fuck them, thats a diffrence ;D

That’s some bulletproof logic right there.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
