This describes how I feel about gaming

https://screwattack.com/videos/The-Only-Thing-I-Know

I sometimes sit alone at home playing games, but generally I’d prefer going out and socializing, that kind of thing.

It’s a good watch, kind of neat seeing someone come to a big realization like that.

Good old Screwattack.

Another quality video.

I met a lot of real life friends through videogames (mainly HL and WoW), I even met my ex in a videogame (no, we didn’t break up because of vieogames).

Then again, not everyone sees online gaming as a social tool.

Wut.

The only thing that bothered me about this is that they never brought up movies, soap operas, reality TV, or watching sports games or any of that stuff up to compare the relative merits of video games vs other forms of entertainment. It definitely is dangerous to treat video games as something that takes priority over having a real life, but that hardly makes it any worse than any of these other things that people push aside time, family and responsibilities for.

The entire purpose of that video totally went straight over your head, didn’t it?

It has been done before, I lol’d at the burning WoW discs.

I don’t see a problem with my gaming addiction, I am so addicted to computers it’s a bigger problem.

That was a really good video. I’ve heard it all before but the method of delivery was good. If anything it made me want to go to community meetups for the games that I play.

I agree with sersoft, I’m not addicted to games either. Just the computer. =|

What a fag.

Good thing I can still stop myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol the guy’s an idiot. I can easily balance videogames and social life. It’s his own darn fault.

That’s the point though. Not everyone can, and he’s trying to explain that. I play games too but I also have a social life.

Like Bolteh pointed out, games can also be a social tool, but there are far too many people who let games consume their life.

My brother did that. He let video games consume his life. Which led him to a job at Nintendo. Sure, not everyone is in the position that my brother is in, but it’s possible that gaming addiction can lead to actual betterment of one’s life (if one pursues such, that is).

Are there far too many people who let games consume their lives? Do you have statistics on that? What would they be doing if they weren’t playing the computer? Committing suicide because of their lack of social skills?

You’re as dumb as bricks.

Almost anybody (aside from danielsangeo’s brother) who let video games consume their life, like this video points out, will lead to you missing out on social interaction and missed opportunities. No I don’t have numbers on it that’s what this video is about, stop trying to stir shit up.

This is how I feel about gaming…

Bye!

That’s why I get my fix via bittorrent.

I liked it, I still have a social life but you have to think how many people play Warcraft and 2-3 make a level 80 account… I am glad he posted it because it is a wake up call for everyone whether they know it or not.
